Roy Holehouse - Redini10 Jan 2022 20:20
The family of Redini (Roy Holehouse) have asked me to let people know that he passed away this afternoon and to pass on their gratitude for the many investors and Seeing Machines family who offered words of support on here and made contributions on the go fund me page. https://www.gofundme.com/f/f3u5cw-a-helping-hand
Roy was a father, a husband, a proud Yorkshireman and of course a long-term Seeing Machines investor and researcher. I got to know Roy via SM and we became friends over the years, I liked his style, his brand of directness and honesty, he didn't suffer fools. People are drawn to people they like and I liked Roy, many a time he kept me sane, I would be fretting about some competitor and he would say "they can't do ASIL B" (whatever that means).
The doctors thought Roy might pass last week as he had been without food or water for over a week, but I didn't, it was CES week and Roy loved CES week. I smiled last week when we got an RNS including the phrase "comply with ASIL B", Redini would have loved that. He would have read the white paper from back to front and understood most of it. There is a small handful of people on here who understand the technical side of what SM do and alongside JC and TLS, Roy was in that small group. I spent Saturday night reading his twitter back catalogue. https://twitter.com/holehouseroy
The last message we got from Roy was in Oct, he was in Lanzarote on holiday and he sent a pic of a pint of beer and his Seeing Machines Cap with the caption "come on SEE, f**k work", that was Roy he loved SM, people tell us not to get emotionally connected to an investment, but for people like Roy and a few of us crazies it's more than an investment it's a way of life.
Roy was convinced we would win VAG as he called it (VW Group), for years he kept saying "they want ASIL B", well when that day came in Dec he was having one of his better days and I messaged his wife to tell her we had announced VAG she replied "you were right, he was very excited about that news"
I will miss you Roy, miss your honest council, miss you putting derampers in there place, you know what Roy, you were right after all, some would say early but I would say I am glad we were early together.
There will be an empty chair at the 100p party.
Slainte.
