The article above claiming the "first 1m was the hardest" didn't age well as the 2nd million took over 2 years.

As important that cars on the road is, more important is "cashflow breakeven runrate" SM have a stated target of this fiscal year, so by June 2025. Today SEYE said they will hit ebitda profit later in 2025 and "cashflow breakeven" 2 to 3 quarters later, so at some point in 2026.

What's the point being a keyboard warrior and constantly moaning about a business that you are apparently invested in, same every time the derampers hide behind the screen and never show up.

I take the view that the management being in London is a good opportunity for me to to improve my knowledge of my investment, if I thought they were eejits and the company was rubbish I would hit the sell button and move on.

Whilst they don't provide the market with cars on the road, the key metric becomes year on year growth, as we know SM is running at ~100%.

SEYE are 16% year on year growth, a year ago they were growing at 100%+.

Chris, I wouldn't say it was "hyperbole" but a lot of moving parts, SM should be held accountable for getting design wins to SOP, which they have been very successful with, the quarterly numbers are very hard to predict hence the company tend to talk in annual increases.

What is interesting is the performance of competitors on this key metric of "cars on the road", they off course don't all report on it (anymore), but from the information to hand

1) Seeing Machines = ~3m (reported 2.6m as at 30th Sept 24)

2) Smarteye = ~2m (based on CB linkedin post a few months back "SEYE will reach 2m cars around the same time SM reach 3m")

3) Tobii = 600k (as per their financial results) the 600k includes their fleet product and in the absence of a split I have left it as all auto)

4) Cipia = 600k ish (no available data, previously assumed by CB to be circa 33% of SEYE, so I will use that)

So SEYE are still relatively close to SM, but the gap widens every quarter, for all the noise Cipia and Tobii are both tiny.

Brockwl, depends on your definition of "around", I see a range of maybe 3,050,000 - 3,150,00 the bottom end would still be a 7% increase on the prior quarter the top end would be 30%+ increase.

As you are so interested in my guess it was 3,117,091 an increase of exactly 23%.

personally , I would say anything around 3m is strong performance and cements the fact that SM are by far the leader on cars on the road.

Last year KPIs landed 8th Feb, so should land any day now

we had design wins in the past that got to sop in 18 months or so.

it's the complexity of where the dms is situated that decides the time to sop, do they need to redesign the ****pit, which takes years of engineering time.

Looks to me another company that did a bad acquisition that they couldn't afford are now running out of cash quickly, slashing headcount and looking to sell off bits of the business to keep the lights on.

I don't see how any OEM could do proper due diligence and award a design win to a Tier One who use Tobii or SEYE

Serious cash issues for Tobii

1) Cash 116m SEK plus 50m SEK facility

2) Cash from operations was 38m sek in the year reported.

3) Free cashflow was -345m sek, even allowing for the acquisition it was -119m sek year before.

They look out of cash to me.

Also they owe 229m sek in Covid loans
