RE: Redundancies29 Jun 2025 07:09
As someone who is likely to accept VR in the current cull. I would like to congratulate investors on their unwavering support. Yes, the McMurtry family (David's wife) has inherited his sizable stake. It was very unexpected that Renishaw would seek to reduce headcount by 10% globally. I sense the SP action pushes the board to reduce costs to appease both the City and Renishaw's shareholders (including those on the BOD). Although, I doubt any of you care about redundancies. My guess is that most of 10s of thousands invested and take the dividends. If you read the recent Annual Report - it will tell you not a lot apart from the uncertainty in the business. One reason for a high cost base is insisting on manufacturing in Wales. Made in Britain used to justify a premium but not anymore. China are catching up with technology while keeping prices low thanks to state aid. Anyway, I never bought shares here for some reason.
