RE: Funds18 May 2022 10:01
Do you not feel that those with power in the markets concoct these fear based narratives as a way of capturing stocks cheap?
A kind of market wide pump and dump combined with a poop and scoop. I have absolutely no desire to follow the lead of mainstream fund managers, a profession in the UK dominated by the human capital outputs from our wonderful public schools. All white, all male, all privileged, all clueless.
I met one of the Jupiter fund managers at an event dominated by the wise one John Redwood holding court. I couldn't get over the fact that this fund manager, with billions of AUM had turned up with his shoulders covered in dandruff. I mean I had some dandruff on my school blazer as a teenager but I sorted it out.
Has there really been a paradigm shift? Do we all really need to scramble for cash, gold and value stocks and ignore the real world changes driven by AI, supercomputing, automation, internet of things, medtech diagnostics, metaverse etc?
In a context where if people want to work they want to do it from home. The labour force is shrinking, for the first time ever ONS reported more vacancies than unemployed. BOE raising the risk of more long term sick from long covid.
