The article refers to sourcing of tungsten too. The recycling part is indicative of the demand for tungsten. All rather good for tungsten produced in Europe especially with increased applications for EV technologies. It is also much used in weapons, which I think there might be increased production of. Increasing uses, preferred supplies in this now less globalised world make for ideal circumstances for a producer in Spain imho.

EVs are not bad news for tungsten demand. It has been found some types of panels employ tungsten has it had very useful propertiesl and also for other uses ( nuclear and fusion research) all coming to the fore.

You can be sure China looks after China. Sanctions and recessions are not good for them as a major manufacturer. The will look to retain trade etc. The only real pro Russian factor for China is that Xi has invested his political stock in Russia, so he must look to extradite and save face- so probably some form of official fence sitting whilst being more pro western unofficially will be his best path.
For the indian’s they need help with the west to counter territorial claims from China, they should think about where their bread is buttered- to be fair to them cheap energy from Russia is handy: mind you they must be looking at their Russian military equipment with less confidence following how it’s performed in Ukraine.
The big big worry is bonkers Putin escalating, unless someone stops him internally.
In amongst all this there will be increased demand on metals like tungsten, which is used on armaments as well as tooling. So in amongst all this there may be some financial advantage for Wres, albeit from very sad circumstance.

It used to be the case that inflation helped to pay off the mortgage. A house costing 25K seemed like a hell of a lot, but then inflation for a few years and 25 K reduced until it was not much at all. It is used to reduce debt in real terms, some countries devalue their currency to reduce debt too. So inflation at say 10% ,would in real terms reduce debt by 10%. If Wres produce goodly amounts of metal then the inflation adds a little Brucie bonus imho.

Aston boy, are you still invested? I am, but then again I have wholly more positive opinion on future outcomes on Wres. Surely, if you feel so sure of the negative outcome the choice would be to sell up and buy a curry or some such.

Mullins, sorry to hear of your loss. Loosing your mum is a hard one however it happens.
