If something is not done about the energy prices there is catastrophe waiting for industry in Southern Europe, followed by Northern Europe.
Yep Wres has management mistakes , but so do most enterprises eg the tragedy of Apollo 1, but they got 12 guys to the moon in the end. As pointed out we may have made investment mistakes in our decisions here, so it seems mistakes don’t go well with unfortunate events.

The corrosion and other defects would have been much amplified by the low grade ore, it’s not a linear relationship in production either. So given better grade ore, which is where we are now, things should be better and add the modifications and upgrades we should now be cooking on gas - and therein lays another problem.

Mullins, there’s no doubt there is and will continue to be a demand for tungsten and tin. Your link puts the USA at 50% reliant on imports, given the Russian and also China’s relationships with them that side of things puts Wres in a good position. Now if we could get some good things happening we may yet see some success.
The Spanish are looking to get energy costs capped at €30 per mega wattt hour ( they were about that) instead of the 180 they got to. There is widespread problems for manufacturing, mining, transport and domestically over this in Spain, so there is a lot of motivation to get that done.
If the lay off payment for staff gets agreed that’s about 80% wages/income so that should keep them retained as employees, again that would help.
Then there’s the licence thingy, but I understand that should be ok from the RNS.
So if we make it though this period it could get much better. Sitting on a ifs though.

It seems the Iberian peninsular (Spain and Portugal) have gone to the EU to get agreement to cap gas at much lower prices. The eu consider it urgent so will probably get round to it in 3 Months or more- unless they can rush themselves, I hope they do.

I have pondered. Lots of things stated on the bb some of which can be verified but as for some statements surely there should be a touch of imho. Isn’t it considered naughty otherwise? Unless, of course, someone has some facts to lay hands on eg that there is a warbling fat lady etc,
Mind you does look a tad on the grim side and it looks like I will be in these over the weekend regardless of my opinion.
I was actually thinking this horrid war would increase tungsten price etc and that Wres would thus increase income. However, it seems my material greed although greater than my moral conscience did not take into account the law of unforeseen consequences.
So although technically materially poorer at this time I have a chance to think about things. Whatever happens here, we are all lucky not to be living in the Ukraine. And as for those volunteering to join them in their struggle, it renews belief in decent and brave people. Slava Ukraini.

God knows what motivates their like, could be it’s Russia stopping tungsten production.personally I think the appeal will stand - there is too much local political capital that could be lost: Wres has been there for a while, it employs over a100 and there are spin off benefits to employment in the local economy. Just my view, but I don’t know any real answer.

I think it sensible to suspend operations as companies in Spain are doing at the moment. Reduce all costs to minimum whilst energy costs are so high and logistical problems create supply chain chaos across the board. There remains 2.5 to 3 million of funds that can look to be drawn. In shut down mode costs are very low. So an AGM seems to be a reasonable proposition as they are usually held in June.

There is quite a lot of rather rudeness towards myself and some others. I would like to discuss some of the technical points GUG has raised with regard to being a keyboard warrior etc- I will be at the AGM this year, so it would be an ideal place to discuss this more deeply.
As to myself and others that I know losing our shirts or pensions and savings, it’s true it is a rather wincing amount of money, but it’s far from a shirt or indeed pensions and property etc. Mind you a few 100 K loss always hurts.
Having said that, it is not actually over, and Wres are not yet finished.
I have a friend who took a job with a company on the very verge of bankruptcy, he managed to invest a bit of money; turn around occurred and he is now millionaire.aimho.

Hi Franny, Omr and other investors. Indeed it is not looking good. Mind you the fat lady has not sung yet. The trucker strike has caused shortages across the board according to the internet, it said supermarkets were rationing because of supplies -hopefully the strike is over, and there's the energy prices affecting things ttps://www.euronews.com/next/2022/03/30/arcelormittal-spain-truckers?msclkid=2ad5a86bb4cb11ecad4f967bc7f77f24
But the big boy on the block is the authority issue- if they can sort that we could be in with a chance, we have some access to funds, 2,5 million, and the govt is looking to the EU to cap energy prices at far lower rates, and we are now told we should be getting to the higher grade ore. On my visit, some time ago, there were local politicians very interested in Wres as an employer for tyhe region, so hopefully they are having an input expediting ant authority issues.
All hypothetical on my part, but it is looking near to the knuckle, wres is not the only employer really struggling in Spain, so Iwould expect some support on the temporary lay off and looking at things to get industry working across the board.
So its not yet over imho, but we need a convergence of good news to replace what appears to be a perfect storm.
