Hi Nancy. I sold out only because I made an investment decision elsewhere. It wasn't something I expected to do but unfortunately I gambled and it went wrong forcing me to sell TCG. It is obvious from my posting where I am invested now, and the 3 shares I thought I would never sell out altogether have gone. I don't believe it is right to continue posting on a board when you ae not invested or to lie about things. One day I will re-invest here, not to the levels I had previously but, I will be back. I will pop over from time to time but, I the meantime I wish you Farrugia1967 and other investors all the best. I still believe in this stock and if things had went differently I would still be here. The comments I made when I was posting on the board came to fruition and their is still mileage yet. People will take holidays forever TCG will continue to be a big player.

Don't want to bore you all, but made an investment mistake which caused me to sell. Miss the board and one day I will be back. Good luck to you ALL. Things do seem to be turning.

Vince cable is against this and wants it referred to monopolies and mergers commission. As they already own a large percentage and offer a number of the sky options and with BT trying to muscle in and virgin as a smaller player cant see where the problem is. There is enough doubt as to whether deal will go ahead to be trading well below offer price. Acquistion before end of 2017 seems a long long time away and a lot can happen between them.

As you I am sure know that was Mike at the AGM after being to the casino. As for sports direct. Mike Ashley has grown the business by buying a number of companies such as Dunlop Slazenger Donnay Lonsdale etc etc and then manufacturing themselves " under a brand name " They are essentially own label products. What he has done though is bring the prices on the high street DOWN. He will no doubt look for the next " brand " that is floundering and buy them as well as there is more profit doing it that way. As for the buybacks it is interesting that the buybacks have stopped but the share price has gone up. You would have thought it would have went the other way. The share price in the long term is too low. As with companies like Amstrad in the 90s some companies are valued too low due to sentiment and sometimes owners want to take them private. Big problem with Mike Ashley is he is asset rich but he doesn't have a lot of cash. And when I say he doesn't have a lot of cash I mean in terms of buying sports direct. So although I am sure he would like to do it. I cant see that happening. If he wanted extra cash he would pay dividends. He wants to grow this further and further acquisitions down the line cant be ruled out. He looked at BHS my thoughts are that if he can do it with sportswear he can do it with clothers so I think there is future growth potential there. Mike Ashley has used sports direct buyback to take stock at a price he believes beneficial in the long term. But this does take cash away from the company. What it can help with in the future is purchases where shares are used. That's my take on it for what its worth.

The buyback doesn't increase ashleys holding they are held in Treasury ?? He is not buying back with his money. It is company money

Todays price is a knee jerk reaction to announcement. What the price trades at in future depends on market forces. Normal shareholders cant subscribe but can now buy on open market for very similar.

Why are people coming out of the woodwork. ?? Because they see 20.525% increase and think its real. And yes, some people are that stupid. Good luck all.

This is a cash shell with a spread of 22.22% and more will get burnt than make money. ( I.M.O ) Buyers beware.

Broker upped their target. Which is why maybe bit of surge in share price.

They cant really service the debt now, so all this does is give them breathing room. In fact it is a reduction in cash as this has been used to repay some of the debt. Tread with care. Some will profit, some will get caught out catching a pump and dump and in at a high price. Good luck whatever your choice.

No good if its going to get seized. Massive massive risk hope its not one of those spectacular pump and dumps !!!!!

Company can only buy back shares if someone is selling. It could well be that the broker has been advised to buy back shares under a certain price. They would never go in and try to buy a boat load of shares at once as this would just push prices higher. Whether people like Ashley or not. He is a shrewd businessman although he is a gambler.

A dividend being paid. My opinion only

A lot of people in the North East do not like Mike Ashley. One of the reasons is he employed Dennis Wise and gave him control of Kevin Keegan. I am one of the few who has supported Mike Ashley throughout and think he has been positive throughout. Yes we have had 2 relegations but we are rising again and with Rafa in charge have a chance. With Hall and Shepherd who didn't use their own money but borrowed from Barclays we would have gone bust years ago. Sports direct will survive and prosper simply because it provides value for money. Sentiment changes. He has made mistakes. He admits that. But see where it is now from where it has come from. He is a gambler. But long term normally gets it right.
