RE: Barc14 Mar 2021 10:54
Hi Onelongrunner,
I agree, it maybe be bravery or stupidity but my only worry is being to early to the party If I’m honest.
Coming out of lockdown which is an event that has never been seen before and that has required wartime spending to maintain a functioning economy( if you can call printing money for people to stay at home an economy)
And yet here we are, pre covid levels and the ‘profit’ Barclays made this year is nothing but furlough money which you and I will have to pay back. One big debt carcass of furlough and bounce bank loans ploughed back into the stock market from newbie investors to create the biggest bubble we have ever seen.
The level of QE we have seen this year and with the consumer demand that awaits is a gaurentee route to hyper inflation. Why do you think Bitcoin is at ATH? You can’t make more of that will nilly so it can actually retain a value. Instead I’m buying physical gold and silver and shorting banks.
This is all before I express my concerns about the people advising governments across the world, they are not to be trusted and are constantly move the goal posts.
One minute it’s about protecting the NHS and now the focus is back on cases and mass testing, Mass testing =more cases with the highly innacurate pcr tests.
I don’t trust that the goal posts won’t be moved again as they have been all year. Italy is going back into lockdown and Germany is saying they are starting a ‘3rd wave’. The goal posts will get moved again.
I have been questioned a few times on here about why I am bearish on banks and have given my reasons, now I’m interested to hear about the bull case, I don’t see how so much money can’t just be created and swept under the rug and people are so bullish with that like it has no implications. Why is the share price higher than pre covid? How is that justified? What happens when furloughs removed and people’s jobs are gone because the high streets are crippled and won’t get any new investment in case this happens again? I really don’t get the positivity at all..?
