Delaying of Euro’s is a positive and negative.
Delay will save ITV £50m but lose advertising revenue.
Really depends on strength of advertising market as in a normal year advertising ad lift only just covers costs.
Certainly not an issue for any potential bidder.

They need money flowing in through the doors by April/May - enough to at least cover costs of opening.
It’s by no means certain.
It’s still a long shot.

I suspect you are right but he is likely to end up wiping out an entire’s generations wealth.
He will go down in history but not for what he intended.
He is an appalling negotiator, trying to bully rather than use reason, understand and pursued others - he should never have been PM.

If he does this the markets will be the least of the problem.
The consequences for retailers and manufacturers will be dire given they are already weakened due to pandemic- even the food retailers will suffer this time.

Given his own Governor of the Bank of England has already said the impact will be greater than the pandemic that’s a foolish ploy.
He has at least DOUBLED the impact of the pandemic to the UK making it rather obvious.
The UK was already one of the worst impacted western democracy’s.

Boris has boxed himself in - appalling negotiations from beginning to end.
We never had the right strategy, people or relationships.

The problem is no deal is no solution.
We now need thousands of mini deals with the EU across products and services.

Let’s hope I am wrong or Boris climbs down from the ledge.

Clearly the UK might not retaliate will tariffs on imports but that’s unusual in a trade war.
Either way prices go up and both consumers and producers are squeezed.
Marketing budgets will be reduced.

It will be similar to the sterling devaluation immediately post Brexit.
Advertising revenue crashed as advertisers were unable to pass on the price increases to the consumer.
Advertisers margin erosion was negated by reducing advertising/marketing budgets.
Things only stabilised as sterling recovered.
Again sterling will tank plus the price increases will be even greater due to these new tariffs.
These tariffs will be long term.
Hopefully these dual price increases will eventually be passed on to the consumer and the market will again stabilise but it will take time.
