Hi mole_man, yes i have held onto my psn shares, think they will come back strong over the next few years

Gary, it must be pretty cold in your house if you only use £89 in energy unless your very well insulated and have solar panels

The best fixed plan i can get with ovo is £144 or stay on variable plan for £143 estimated on previous use of course

Avocet123, Thanks for your reply, yes i get that, I should rename myself as cautiously optimistic on here, I had a couple of opportunity's to sell here at around 140 and with hindsight i should have, but it is what it is, hopefully the next few years here will be more rewarding for us all

JAX&AVEO, nice to see your not fighting it out over the share price today, so can i ask you both, what are your real expectations from this share, do you have a sell price and an expected time to achieve it or are you both in here for the long term

Realist, the only problem there is energy prices might push up inflation and cause more hardship for some

your right the next dividend and more to come will be very welcome while the share prices are in the doldrums

one day we will see a growing economy plus interest rates and inflation dropping, plus this will be north of £3 again

but when is the big question it been one disaster after another the last few years, great to have a reliable divi payer like this one while we wait though

There's only one direction this company has gone in the last 10 years and that's down, just look at the charts, don't blame the pandemic or Putin's war or the recession, the rot set in here long before any of that, just take a look at the 10 year chart

you make your own minds up whether you think they are capable of turning this company around or not

myself i am just cautiously optimistic that it can at least get back to a £1 at some point, but expect this will always be a disappointing under performing investment

Jax, i have to agree with you telcos are a terrible investment have been for years and I'm not convinced that will change, the problem is just about everything is a bad investment right now, so where is a good investment right now? if anyone can answer that, i know all my shares are suffering, that includes lloyds,lgen,aviva,mng,dlg,vod,psn, just wondering how low will they all go at the moment

I don't think anyone has ever been in any doubt whatsoever about the future importance of 5g,6g etc.

the only thing in question here is how rewarding this share will be for investors, this has been on a downward ski slope since 2018, will it still be an under performing share over the next 5 years that's what we don't know ?

good chance that maybe this will get back a £1 at which point i expect a lot of you new guys here who bought in low will be looking to take a profit, beyond that who knows

TheLoaf, this has always come back good in the past and expect it will again, but after all the events going on in the world since 2020, i wouldn't like to predict what will happen next, it's a case of keep calm and carry on, I'm about 30% in funds and 70% in shares, i would like to reverse that when it's profitable to sell some shares and have 70% funds/investment trusts and 30% shares

Zac, It sounds like you sold your shares at the right time, i get your point about lgen growth being disappointing another option is to sell around £3 if and when it gets back there and buy back later at a much lower price at the bottom of it's range, I'm not going to complain about lgen though it's always been a reliable dividend payer for me without any loss of capital, I can't say that about all of my shares, i am slowly increasing on my funds, but expect i will have a long wait to sell off some of my shares at a price i would like to get for them.

Thanks maybe, interesting about the gilts as an addition to the portfolio, as we might still be in difficult times for some time to come yet, will just keep collecting the dividends untill we get more growth on the shares

Zac0_4, thanks for sharing that, I have to congratulate you on your portfolio in these difficult times, i have 7 funds which are all in profit, most are the same as yours

then the shares, aviv,lgen,mng just about breaking even on them, then i have other shares in big loss that's lloy,dlg,psn,vod

hasn't been great for my individual shares lately

would be interesting to hear how others are doing, what's been making a profit for you lately and what's been a big disappointment
