This is where we are with most shares right now guys, aviv/lgen/mng/vod/lloy etc.etc, also funds not moving

unless you know of any that are doing really well, if so please tell me, best thing in my opinion is just keep collecting dividends and see where we are by april exdiv

Avocet123,i wouldn't waste your time boring everyone to death telling jax to sell his shares half a dozen times every day either, pretty simple really

I do think and hope we will see some recovery here eventually, that's why i am holding on hoping to recover some losses here, but how long we will have to wait is anybody's guess

Mrlong, you must have an awful lot of confidence in this share, considering that over the last 5 years investors have lost more on capital that they have received in dividends and total returns are all that matters, with hindsight we would have been far better off with a basic international tracker fund, but i wish you luck

I'm finding it very difficult to be confident here at the moment, hopefully the general sentiment will change for this share and we will see it back over a £1 again, but i just can't see it happening anytime soon, inflation is still at high level and more interest rises predicted in the coming months, but i do hope I'm wrong, don't let the wind up merchants get to you we all know their comments won't make the slightest difference to the share price hear, when this does start rising again we can have the last laugh, i do hope you have a balanced portfolio though, as nobody knows what can happen next

by all means tell me if you disagree, it's only our personal opinions

Dan, they are just winding you all up and enjoying the feed back from you biting, and until the share price starts rising they are winning you will have to take it

get real mate there is not much to back this up for right now, hopefully that will all change but it hasn't done yet has it

Jax, you are doing a very good job of winding some of these guys up, and they are taking the bait

Zac, i get you're point and agree about the funds in the long term, but they are very slow at the moment, difficult times for making a profit on the stock market, I'm pretty sure lgen capital will be returned eventually, and 8 percent yield is still a nice return for now

No problem Mikeyh68, hopefully you will get back here, and yes you did get it right, need a stick of dynamite to move it at the moment

So what's the alternative guys, we are all disappointed in the share price, lgen/aviv/mng/lloy/psn/dlg etc. all dropping also funds are not making any progress, looks like we will have a long wait to see any appreciation until inflation/interest rates/energy costs start dropping. at least we will continue to get a generous dividend here while we are waiting

Dan, funny though Mikey does a vanishing act and jax takes his place, anyway i really don't care what jax/aveo or gutter say, because i know it's not going to make a dam bit of difference to the share price here

i don't want to see anyone losing money here any more than i don't want to keep losing money here myself, but this share is not in a good place right now and be aware it can go either direction from here, those wishing this down so you can top up at a lower price, be careful what you wish for because this has a reputation for going down and not coming back up, how many years have been been listening to people saying how under valued this share is and now we have gone below the £1 shop

maybe we will be in a better place next year, but for now let's just hope it can stop dropping

Maybe you should all listen to jax aka mikey, he might be right

Just look at the charts, has anything significant really happened to make this change direction apart from selling off parts of the company

Agree, but may also want to take a look at lgen international index and fundsmith, i just suggest funds for growth along side a few reliable dividend shares such as lgen/aviv/mng

Sugarbabe, you have my sympathy if you have been on the smt board, i also have some money invested there, turned out to be a big mistake, but try telling that to the old soldiers there lol

don't know of any other shares with such a good track record for increasing dividends than this one

but can only go on how it's been in the past of course, maybe also a good growth fund to back it up

IT's all too easy to say this or that share is crap

Quite often it's not the share that you're holding that's the problem, it just that you maybe holding them at the wrong time

that's the way it is as another poster put it, we need a good period of growth and even a dose of steroids for some to make them the way they're meant to be, and what we was hoping for

let's hope we don't have to wait too long to get some good growth years back

I don't need to worry about anyone trying to read all of my posts, there's 2200 of them and most of them are Dan and myself taking the micky out of each other and cracking jokes that nobody finds funny, they will bore themselves to death by the time they are half way through them, cheer up guys we are all here trying to make some money in difficult times

Does anyone really think we will any meaningful growth from shares this year, from what I'm seeing from most of my shares , they just want to keep on dropping, looks to me like this might be another year of collecting dividends and waiting for recover

The only thing that's starting to make any progress are my funds such as legal & general international index, if you look at the total return over the last 5 years it's out performed a lot of my individual shares

Mrlong, I can only tell you what a disappointing share this has been previously, trying to predict what will happen here next is a lot more difficult, but i keep my fingers crossed that we will at least see this back a pound in the not to distant future

unlike some of my other shares that have gone up and down within a range Vodafone has only gone one direction which means you get caught in a trap with two options sell off at a loss or hang on and hope it will recover, so as much as i want you guys to be right, i need to actually see it happen if that makes any sense, so i will just keep an open mind about it for now

we all know mobile phones and 5g etc. is the technology of the future, but will it be rewarding for it's share holders

let's hope something good can finally happen for this share
