I think maybe David is wanting a written guarantee that this will go back to £3, we all hope it will but I'm afraid there is no guarantees with investing in the stock market, if there was we could all be millionaires

the old saying is don't invest more than you can afford to lose and don't put all you're eggs in one basket unless of course you are 100% sure it's the right basket

the truth is nobody knows just how long it will take for inflation and interest rates to drop and when the economy will start to grow again, but for myself i will keep taking the dividends for now

personally I'm not too worried about this one, i have much worse shares than this

David, I'm not sure anyone was wrong at all, it depends on each persons circumstances, for instance if you are willing to just leave your money in for a few years eventually you will get that capital back and maybe more, plus you will have had around 8% in dividend each year to accumulate, think about that

everyone is different, if you're thinking shorter term then possibly better off in a savings account

As much as I've always praised this share, anymore interest rises and it will be better to just invest in a good savings account, with guaranteed no loss of capital

Dan, i don't know about free cash flow, but what we need here is increasing cash gains, there is one thing i can tell you is total returns is all that matters as an investor, not just dividends, if you look back at the previous total returns it's enough to make you cry, we just need the share price to rise mate, we don't want to be losing our capital

Hi Dan, well with hindsight as you know i had two chances of selling at 140, but too late now, looks like my patience will have to be tested again, not just vod but all of my shares have been beaten down with a big stick the last few weeks

never mind off on holiday next week for 10 day break in Gran Canaria, if it's 140 by the time i get back i will buy you a pint or two or three

Gino73, fingers crossed for better times for the share prices, as we all know events can make a big difference on the stock markets, let's hope we have some good events to come, until then will just keep on taking the dividends :-)

ZAC, I like to take a look at everything that any suggests and see if i think it's right for my personal portfolio, keeping in mind my age as my long term views are getting shorter due to retirement getting very close, the conclusion i came to was i agree i feel the funds are a better option for my circumstances, even though they are very sluggish at present just like the rest of my shares, but saying that now maybe a good time for adding or buying more, currently there are only 3 shares i want to hold onto for the dividends lgen being one of them, but fear it will be some time to go before some of my

under performing shares return to a price where i can sell without capital loss

also think it will be easier to sell down funds when i want to draw from my Sipp as hl don't charge transaction fees on funds

but i would like to thank saintly for sharing, for someone with a longer view they might fit in perfectly

Hi sidi mate, with inflation still out of control and interest rates expected to rise further, i wouldn't like to guess when the turning point will be for any of my shares, they have all taken a battering lately and I've given up on my vod shares, if i live to 120 i may brake even from the dividends lol

any tips on what's making money right now guys, i was hoping to be a millionaire, but it's definitely not working for me, maybe it's just me that's picked all the wrong shares
