Robina, i agree ,it's just not a nice time to be holding shares looking at all those red figures every week, and i just can't see it getting better until inflation drops back to maybe 2% and interest rates also dropping, i think we will have a long wait for that, really could do with some good events instead of the bad ones, I'm done with averaging down as well, as you say they only drop even lower, just collecting all my dividends and adding them to funds

I'm not really miserable lol , but it has been a bit crappy on stock market for a while now

When investing in shares you need to look at total returns you will be expecting over say a 5 year period, i would be interested in knowing why you are investing in Vodafone, and what you're expectations and time frame are, genuine question guys not just trying to put it down without a good reason

Gary good advice for this share i think, not worried about this one, also think it's become more clear the last few years not to invest more than you can afford to lose on any individual share, at my age I'm trying to move more of my shares back into funds, but first i need my shares to get somewhere near the top of their trading range before selling or reducing, i think that's going to be a lengthy drawn out process lol

Gutter, no i was not talking about dan, he just wants the share price to go up, nothing wrong with that, and don't think he needs a reality check

What's happened to this board it seems to have been taken over by crazy people, don't get sentimental about any share

we are all just trying to make a profit in a difficult market, i have a sell off price on all of mine, but fear it will take a long time for them to get back to the top end of their previous trading range, i expect we will have to be very patient for some time yet, at least we will get some return in the form of dividends, only other option is sell at a loss

Fleccy, there has been plenty of accountants invested here over the last 5 years, and most of them as far as i know have lost money here just like everyone else, if you lose more on your capital than you get back on dividends, it's pretty obvious it's been a bad investment, the only question now is can we recover some of them losses from this current awful share price, hopefully we can get back a£1 at least without having to wait another 5 years

Dan, i guessed that, my own feelings are that we will not see much gains from shares until inflation and interest rates start dropping globally, and can't see that happening this year, but who knows what can happen

The only way we can silence jax is for him to be proven wrong by a steady rising share price, let's hope that can happen

Etotheipi, I share you're same thoughts, let's hope there are no more World disasters, and 2024 will be a lot more prosperous for our shares, at least we will be getting some return by means of dividends while we wait for hopefully falling inflation and interest rates

Every share and international funds as well have been dropping with me the last few weeks, it's a bit of a concern as i don't see things turning around anytime soon, when will it all stop i wonder, the world is in a bit of a mess for sure
