That's what i was thinking, that's one good thing about dividend shares, you have something coming in while waiting for the share price to rise

It's more like what ever you invest in it goes down, that's been the trend the last couple of years, bank saving accounts are looking a lor more appealing, anyone like to guess when the next bull market will be I'm waiting patiently here lol

Kay, a shot in the dark i will currently go for 90p by year end, contrary to what some others have suggested, i hope the dividend does not get cut here, as i think a lot invest here for the dividend and from this current low price are also hoping for some growth in the sp

Sidi, i sold half of mine at 4.20 if it drops back to my average 3.80 i will buy them back, but would prefer it to make it's way to 4.50 and i will use the money elsewhere

Kay, I don't think anyone could have predicted what's been going on in the World the last few years or what will happen next, and they all have an influence on the share prices, especially inflation that's eating away at company's profits

a £1 by xmas would be very nice, but i think Dan was right in his earlier post, nobody knows

but don't ask Mole-man he's not telling us what we want to hear at the moment, only joking of course:-)

Mole_man99, not expecting any fireworks here anytime soon, but I'm surprised you don't think can get back to a £1 in the next 6 months or so, hopefully 2024 will be a more prosperous year for the stock market, how do you think housebuilders shares persimmon/ Barrett etc. will do if labour get in

80p would be nice for now but i need a £1 to make a profit from my last 86p top up here, but who knows what will happen next in this crazy world, something good hopefully

Gutter, How are your Lloyd's shares doing, you would be getting double the dividend income here and possibly more growth as well, are you regretting it?

Gwm121, I'm pretty confident aviv and lgen will come back good, as for vod it's been a terrible share to have been invested in over the last 5 years and given up any hope of recovering my money on that one, but don't tell anyone on the vod board lol

ForensicBloo, unfortunately it only takes one or two who want to disrupt to spoil what was a good board, a very low share price seems to attract them, but it is a public board, let's hope the share price rises and hopefully they will go away

David i have to agree, not good is it, that's the world we are living in right now unfortunately

Stupmy, i have a pretty good life thanks, i may not be making much profit on the stock market right now, but the most important thing for me is that i don't lose money, it's just a matter of holding and collecting dividends for me until we see the share prices rising again, good luck to you if your making a profit from the frequent trading i just don't think that's the right way for me

Dan, i just wish i was as good an investor, if i buy the price drops if i sell it goes up, oh dear what can i do ?, i know a lot of posters here are invested in the same shares as myself and they are not doing very well Lloyds my biggest investment has been a big disappointment along with others, when i transferred by pension from hsbc to a Sipp in 2014 being completely new to the stock market it seemed i couldn't do anything wrong everything i invested in was making money

totally different world we are living in right now though, let's hope we don't have to wait too long for this bull market

Stupmy, i do hope you are making a lot of profit from that as it seems like a lot of work and very high risk

For myself I'm going in the opposite direction moving more back into funds all of my 8 funds are in profit and most have returned around 50% over the last 5 years and that's taking into account they grew by 60% from 2018 to jan 2022 and have currently dropped back by 10% making it around 50% gain in 5 years

my shares on the other hand are all currently in loss, getting a 7-8 or 9% dividend sounds very appealing but if your losing a similar amount or more on your capital its not so great, don't intend selling all my shares just reducing the amount when they come back to a sellable price, but everyone's circumstances are different
