Good morning Stupmy, for what it's worth, this is what i think, if i sell it will probably start rising, if i hold i will just keep my fingers crossed that something good can happen for this share to make it start rising again, so i will stick to my very cautiously optimistic opinion here

Zac, I have to agree with you my funds have outperformed my shares over a 5 year period, I can only speak for myself, but all of my funds are in profit, but not all of my shares are, that's not saying you shouldn't buy quality shares like lgen, but as you said to me before, you have to be careful to avoid losing money, as you can easily do so with some individual shares

Soton, why are you being so negative lol, we need to see this break past 70p and making it's way towards 80p let's hope we get some sort of breakthrough here, we are depending on some good results with this one

Good afternoon sidi, yes this is making gains again, with ex div in April i would think there's more chance of this going higher rather than lower, but stranger things have happened, there's always the dividend to collect as well, doing much better than Lloyds, you probably did the right thing selling there, it's always jam tomorrow for Lloyds any bad news and it's the first to get hit down and the last to recover, one day perhaps then i can sell some off and add more here instead

Sidi, i agree it's a shame to see this board turn into a Lloyds sister board full of know it all wanna be armchair politicians that keep arguing who can run the country the best, if you go worrying about everything that's been going on in the World the last few years you will probably want to top yourself, if your healthy and alive think yourself lucky, and think about something nice you can spend your dividend money on

Another to consider , if you take a look back at what's happened over the last few years, Pandemic/Ukraine/inflation/interest rises/recession almost, although the share price has been up and down, the dividend payments have just kept coming all through, and the share price does seem to be recovering, nothing is guaranteed of course but so far nothing much not to like, it's so easy to lose money on shares i have a couple of stinkers, so i don't like to mess about too much with the one's that are doing what was intended, and I'm quite happy to be holding this as part of my portfolio

Good morning bertram, this is a great place for chatting about our own experiences, but there is no one size fits all with investing, as all of our circumstances and comfort levels are different,

as regards to when is the best time to sell or buy, we would all love to know the answer to that one, so we could get very rich

fwiw, obviously take into account any loss of dividend payment, brokers fees ant tax when buying and selling, and the risks of not getting back in at a better price, and i wish you the best of luck

Hi Dan, I'm not sure any of them want to see us losing money, but of course they are winding everyone up for a laugh, we all know that, the good thing is nothing anyone says here will make the slightest bit of difference to the share price, so just take it with a pinch of salt, the problem is for as long as the share price is dropping they are winning, so let's hope this can turn around so we can be winning, if it's any consolation it's not just Vodafone, since the recent talk of inflation rising again, most shares have been dropping back down, let's see what happens in the coming months, talking it down or up doesn't make any difference whatsoever as you well know, we need to see it actually happening, I don'take anything for granted i'm just hoping for the best here like yourself

Sidi, good for you my friend i'm glad that's working well for you, as i told you before i sold half of my Aviva shares not long ago when we had that spike due to a sell off rumour, and guess what it's not dropped back for me to rebuy, i guess i'm just not cut out to be a trader,also i told you i was back in profit with Lloyds when it hit 47p now they have dropped back into loss, i will have to have a chat with you later for some training lol

NervousNelly, yes i agree mate and also with Gary 59 there are still some bumpy roads ahead of us, sadly there are some nasty things going on in the World right now, but can't think of a better place to collect my dividends from while we are waiting for the sp to recover

sidi, i know what you mean, with hindsight if we sold before exdiv last year we could have bought back for a lot less, but not sure anyone can predict what's ahead, hopefully inflation and interest rates will drop and share prices will increase, the most important thing for me is to try and avoid losing money, if i can get a good dividend without losing any capital, then i'm thinking don't try and fix what's not broken, i would prefer to try and fix a couple of the buggers that are broken if that makes any sense, will be interesting to see where this is at before exdiv, and think about any options then

Well it's a bit disappointing to see our pre xmas bull run gains being taken away from us once again

Hi Dan, well i'm definitely no expert, but like everyone else i'm always trying to improve, my funds i'm not concerned about because they are all in profit, the shares are a bit more tricky, i have some that are doing well, i have some others that are ok but could be better, then i have a couple that i keep asking myself w.t.f am i going to do with them

There are a lot of investors here that are a lot more experienced than myself, it's just about sharing opinions and quite often picking up tips from others

we don't always agree, but that doesn't matter

Yes Dan, it's been accepted by myself, but you can't ignore which direction this has gone up until now, that's what we have been discussing, is whether we all think enough is being done to make this change direction, don't just take it for granted that it will go up just because you are thinking positive, you have to consider all options, that's what these boards are for, so people can give their opinions, as i said earlier, personally i think this is a very low price and think it can improve, and was asking what others are thinking
