Narcus, you work for Vodafone, what are the general thought there for the November results

Robina, i totally agree with you mate the share situation is dire, please forgive me i was having a funny dream, but i have woken up again now lol

The way i look at this share is I'm in profit and looking forward to a nice dividend from a strong company, good place to park your money in these troubled times in my opinion, seriously i wish all my shares were in profit like this one and expect the sp will be a lot better on approach to April exdiv

Can't wait for it to reach £1.40 so i can talk it up to £2 let's hope this Has reached a turning point, as it's well overdue

Vodger, dividend is not that great really and due to the heavy company debt, not really very secure either, most dividend shares have a good yield at the moment due to the drop in sp such as direct line with a current yield of 11.5%, persimmon 18.5% not saying this is not a good buy at this price, if the last couple of years are anything to go by it will probably go up to 140 again maybe a little higher with the possible new deals, but what will happen then, will it drop back to £1 again or go onto £2, with less revenue after the selling off their assets' I'm not sure
a good addition to a portfolio at this price in my opinion, but maybe not much more than around 5%

Hi Dan, I agree not a good time for selling it may drop lower of course, ok vod sp is looking pretty bad right now, but what isn't guys? every share/fund/investment trust is struggling with me right now, just a pretty awful time for the stock markets at the moment with rising inflation and interest rates, not to mention the fuel and energy costs, if interest rates rise anymore will it be worth investing in the stock market if you can get around 5% in a savings account with guaranteed no loss of capital, if your already invested though think it's going to be a long waiting game to see any meaningful rise in share prices, just hoping all the dividends are paid in full for now, and re-invest where i can see the best value
all just my personal opinion of course, if anyone knows what is doing really well, please let me know

Hi Dan, lots of talk about deals etc. selling off their money-making assets to reduce debt seems an act of desperation, but if it will bump up the share price to £1.50 in the short term, i will be happy with that, expect you will as well, just hope it does turn out to be a good deal for Vodafone, we will just have to wait and see, let's hope it works in our favour

What will happen to future profits for Vodafone after they have sold off their assets, is it a good thing or not ?

soton, he is right about one thing though, all the shares are on a slippery downward slope, not sure if Vodafone will be an exception or not, maybe depending if any good deals go through, also us stocks are going the same way, not expecting this winter to be good for the stock markets, get the tin hats on, hope I'm wrong

Blackfriar, thanks for sharing that information with us, which is as we suspected, lgen used to be my number one solid as a rock share, but think aviva has moved to first place, i see some decent growth potential here given a bit of time, as well as a good dividend, glad i topped up here last week

Hi Dan, well i for one am very pleased to this this share rise today, as i said in a previous post, i would always prefer to see a share rising instead of dropping so let's hope it can continue, i have several shares all shouting out for a top up, such as directline that took a big drop recently due to inflation giving a current dividend yield of over 12%, what's holding me back is I'm not yet convinced any of the shares have reached their bottom yet, due to the current inflation and interest rate rises, plus the energy costs which haven't started to hit people's pockets yet, any deal that can increase vod's sp will be a good thing and well overdue, so come on vod keep it up

Dan, it's not what i think the sp will be next Friday that matters, it's what i think it will be in Six months, and whether it would be a good investments to top up around this price

Gary, maybe more chance of vod rising in the next six months than the house builders perhaps ?
Right now, i wouldn't like to predict what will happen next week let alone next year, just too much stuff going on

CSDI, just don't go getting impatient and selling at a loss, I've still got a small amount left in psn, but holding back before putting anymore in there, expecting most shares will be taking further drops this winter, when the energy costs add to the already high inflation and interest rates, we will just have to wait it out for a while, they will come good eventually
