when Tesco and Aviva sold off parts of their business, there was a return of capital to share holders but they then reduced the amount of shares you had, so you ended up with only two thirds of the shares you previously had which meant you was no better off at all, could something like that happen here ?

Unfortunately high inflation and interest rises have had a bad effect on company's profit margins and i have to be realistic with you, vod has suffered quite badly but you know that ?, going forward we will just have to hope the sp starts to rise above the £1 again, but as inflation is still not yet under control and the European banks are starting to creak, i expect some more turbulent times for a while, of course it's not only Vodafone that's suffering, let's hope for better times as soon as possible

you get what you pay for really, for me personally i know the charges are higher but i would rather keep my pension pot somewhere decent like hl with a large selection of funds and no fee for transferring pension pots, but it may not suit everyone of course especially if you do frequent trades

Hi sidi mate, nah i never would lol, was going well though, think this might be another year for holding and collecting dividends mate, sold up here for 226 for a small profit then decided to buy back before exdiv for 200 was hoping i did the right thing will add again if it drops further, still good dividends to come from here lgen and aviva, but got a kick in the teeth with dlg dividend cut

Dan, i wasn't moaning mate, just mentioned bt have been doing better lately and no i don't think i would buy bt as there is higher yielding shares out there, i have accepted the current situation for what it is, high inflation etc, and it has made me aware of which of my shares are the weakest and strongest, the weakest for me have been vod and directline and lloy have been up and down and can't make their mind up which way to go and the strongest have been aviva and lgen both have increased their dividend payments again, of course I'm hoping Vodafone will get better, but let's face it it's a bit messed up at the moment and hoping we can get back over a £1 again soon

Dan, mobile phone industry is very competitive, saying that though if you look at the chart for bt the share price there has been rising since early January and still rising,

cheers zac,mr math and poker some interesting views, with so much volatility at the moment with all that's going on in the world, maybe not a good time for selling anything at the moment, will reconsider at a later time, at least most of the shares are still paying a dividend at the moment, in difficult times you find out which are the strongest and the weakest

Hi , I'm sure you know it was just jokey comments from soton and myself, and it all just got a bit silly after that, personally i don't give a dam who the CEO is as long as the share price rises, the mood changes here when the share price is down and everyone's losing money , as another poster used to say events can change everything, let's hope we get some good ones and get above the £1 mark soon

Well vod is down to 89p a share now guys, not good, glad it's one of my smaller investments, will it make any recovery, i don't know, that is the dillema, you know what it's like if you sell and suddenly it goes up

sd235, i agree with you mate, you only have to look at the dividend here that increases year after year, even in sh*t times like the last few years, how many shares have been doing that lately? if someone can't make a profit from lgen and aviva then i would give up, seriously i wish some of my other shares were as easy, just hope we have all done enough to convince Andy that not all growth shares actually meet expectations especially tech stocks which have taken a nose dive due to inflation, but he might get lucky
