Andy, i think everyone has probably given up trying to convince you this is why i assumed you would be selling before exdiv, but that's your choice, this is basically a very good reliable income paying share not a growth share, but you can add value to your capital value as well
It's very unlikely you or anyone else would have bought in at the bottom price, so you could as you know lower your average by adding at a lower price than you first paid, that would increase your dividend yield and add value when the share price rises again or reinvest dividends, if the share price rises to say £3 in maybe a years time, you could then choose to sell or hold, I wouldn't suggest anyone should put all there money into one share, but i think most people would agree this is a good share to have as part of a portfolio along with others and maybe some international funds or trusts as well
