Nikola Corp plant started this week in Arizona.
Weird NEL's US Director for operations is in ... Arizona advertised around Christmas. Wonder if this has gone under the radar as all we hear is Nikola Corp is a walking zombie buyers beware ... Hmmm...may be ? May be not ?
Why not put the US Director for NEL in California where they are flying with all manner of renewables. Best state in the US for hydrogen business ??? Teehee.
$900m in the bank. Nikola Corp are still moving, sideways yes, BUT remember how Tesla was pulled to shreads yet some how beat all anlysists @@.
NEL only have the fuel stations to build so the truck business part is nothing to do with us !
However the fact they are not down and dead , new BoD and cutting turf for the Arizona factory....never say never teehee.
"A partnership could still come with another energy company, and Nikola is getting calls, according to people familiar with the company, but Nikola worries that the SEC’s interest will drag on—especially with a change in administration slowing things down—and it can’t afford to wait, the people say. “We continue to explore options with partners and will publicly announce when appropriate,” says spokeswoman Nicole Rose.

Russell has started building Nikola’s in-house expertise in hydrogen and energy distribution. He’s hired Erik Mason from BP, where he was managing director for structured products, according to people familiar with the matter. Other executives from BP’s hydrogen power operations also recently joined Nikola, the people say. And in December, Nikola promoted Pablo Koziner to president of its energy and commercial business. He and Mason will start laying the foundation to build their own hydrogen network."

UK GOV, ORSTED, SIEMENS , IBERDROLA, SHELL, TOTOTA, HYUNDAI, EVERFUEL, HEXAGON COMPOSITES, HEXAGON PURUS, SAGA PURE, SAGA TANKERS, PROTON ONSITE US FACTORY, ENGIE, US NAVY , US NUCLEAR, ITAWANI , S KOREA Hydrogen consortium, YARA FERTERLISERS worlds largest ferterliser company. Is this important ? Ammonia has a huge CO2 Footprint and governments worldwide are investing Billions in to hydrogen and is one of the most wanted sources of hydrogen in the world ! I have directly invested in Yara who are working in Australia on one of the worlds largest ammonia hydrogen conversion hubs up in the Pilbara for 000's of tonnes of hydrogen to be exported to Japan , China, Korea. This project on its own is probably worth the current NEL share price alone !
The hydrogen hub in Port Los Angeles in combination with the hydrogen hub in Ontario to supply the whole of Canada and the US as a hydrogen network is set up by SHELL ITAWANI again once done will be worth above the current value of NEL share price.
2000 sell , chuckle chuckle.
Have a read at some of my links and you may get the idea that from NK8.00 to me still buying at NK32.00 hopefully indicates that NEL asa is one of THE best companies you could own shares in for the next 10 years.
I do not chase unicorns or rainbows, I learnt to relax and invest.
I tipped Talga, Piedmont and Standard Lithium at the start of this year 2021, all up around 20% and what's the date ?
All 3 are 5 year holds without much risk tbh.

"Herøya Nett AS is a grid company that owns, operates and maintains distribution and transmission networks for the distribution of energy in the industrial park. The company is 100% Yara-owned.
Herøya Nett AS has an area license to build and operate electrical plants and takes measures in existing transformer and connection stations and wired plants in Herøya Industrial Park and the filled area in the Gunneklevfjord, which borders the industrial park. Herøya Nett AS also conducts electricity inspections of all the businesses in the park.
The electricity grid's total capacity is 640 MW, the power output is 150 MW, and the annual energy consumption in the industrial park is approx. 1 TWh."
I wonder if there is a hydrogen project here with NEL's neighbour in Heroya ?
1TWH on the industrial estate is consumed.
@@ hmmmm..... Gulp
"Herøya Nett AS digitizes power supply in the industrial park. The grid company has plans to invest NOK 160 million in new, compact and efficient power plants over the next 4 to 5 years.
Now Herøya Nett replaces all old open 12 kilovolt power plants in two large main plants in Herøya Industrial Park. One power plant that supplied the magnesium factory with electricity, and the other plant that supplies Yara's ammonia factory. "

160 electrolysers providing 1 tonne of hydrogen, which in turn is equivalent to 2.2 MW each.
Question is that 2.2MW per day created or @@ 352 MW PER DAY over 1GW PER YEAR without the upgrade to an already confirmed 4th new line with little cost to take automated 24/7 production PER YEAR from just one of NEL's working factories to 2GW ?
VERY STRONG BUY to my eyes. It doesn't even take in to account the US Factory was Proton OnSite now NEL's in Wallingford, USA.

Dolphyn
The Dolphyn project, led by Environmental Resources Management Limited (ERM), is looking at green hydrogen production at scale from offshore floating wind in deep water locations using seawater. The hydrogen would then be piped directly to shore. The concept consists of a large-scale floating wind turbine (nominally 10 MW) with an integrated water treatment unit and electrolysers for localised hydrogen production. They’ve got £3.12 million UK Govt funding under the Hydrogen Supply Competition Phase 2 round to do detailed design of a 2 MW prototype system, with a view to making a final investment decision on a 2MW prototype facility by March 2021. The development plan for the project has a target date for the operational start-up of the 2MW prototype facility by summer 2024. A full-scale 10MW, pre-commercial facility is planned to follow by 2027, with full scale commercialisation shortly afterwards. Read more here. Early July 2020, Specialist hydrogen company Nel and South Korean multinational conglomerate Doosan were announced as partners on this project. September 28, ERM revealed it’s location for the 2MW and 10MW demos will be off Aberdeen, within the Kincardine offshore wind farm, and based on a design similar to that used at that site.
If a set of 10MW turbines were deployed on a large 4GW wind farm, as ERM eventually plans, the cost of production could drop from £3.50/kg down to £1.50/kg by 2045. To give an idea of the overall scale, the 10MW will produce 900 tonnes per year, the 100MW will produce 9,000 tonnes/year and a 4GW (20 x 20 10MW turbines) would produce 360,000 tonnes/ year. ERM estimates a total of 28 such 4GW wind farms could produce enough to totally rid the UK of its gas requirements. "
"PHOENIX, January 12, 2021 — Nikola Corporation (NASDAQ: NKLA) has secured an innovative electric rate schedule with Arizona Public Service Company (“APS”) that makes possible the accelerated development of hydrogen-based fueling solutions for the transportation industry. Nikola is a company dedicated to the advancement of innovative zero-emissions truck solutions and the energy infrastructure required to make this feasible. By facilitating low-cost production of hydrogen, the Arizona Corporation Commission’s (“ACC”) approval of this rate schedule paves the way for the curtailment of greenhouse gases in the transportation sector, while also providing benefits to key constituents via novel grid-balancing solutions.
Today’s unanimous approval of this agreement by the ACC provides Nikola with a competitive electric rate specifically designed for the production, processing, and dispensing of hydrogen. This will support, among other things, enabling a zero-emission heavy-duty freight corridor along the I-10 freeway between Los Angeles and Phoenix.
APS’s competitive electric rate will help lead the creation of the hydrogen economy in Arizona. Nikola estimates that under the rate structure it will be able to deliver hydrogen at market leading prices and within the ranges required for Nikola to offer competitive lease rates for its trucks customers.
The agreement reflects value that results from the curtailment flexibility that Nikola’s hydrogen production facilities are expected to provide to the electrical grid. These facilities will be configured to respond to the needs of the grid, for example by reducing Nikola’s energy consumption from the electric grid during heatwaves. This agreement will encourage Nikola to deploy capital within the state, increase electric load relating to hydrogen production, and further develop and employ a highly skilled and well-educated workforce.
Nikola CEO, Mark Russell, celebrated today’s critical milestone stating: “Nikola values the joint efforts of APS and the ACC to enable competitive electrolytic hydrogen production. The approval of this special rate for hydrogen production is critical for advancing the future of zero-emissions transportation and building a hydrogen economy.”
Nikola President of Energy and Commercial, Pablo Koziner added, “Through this agreement, Nikola is assured a reliable and competitively priced source of electricity that will allow us to commence the development of hydrogen production facilities to serve the fueling needs of our truck customers. The agreement sets an important precedent in showcasing that innovative operational solutions can be developed for the economic production of hydrogen that maximize benefits to all stakeholders.”
The approval of this agreement marks an important milestone. Going forward, Nikola will work with APS to finalize site selection and interconnection requirements to establish its first hydrogen production facility in Arizona."
So today the target route is specified Arizona to Los Angeles. Coincidence that it is to Los Angeles where Tenaris are partnering NEL to create a Port Los Angeles Hydrogen Hub for West Coast America ( And Ontario for the East ) ?
