John Bell in today's Sunday Telegraph13 Sep 2020 15:11
I've been out of contact in transit today until now. I see an earlier thread mentioning the Telegraph, but I don't think it has picked up the John Bell interview in today's business section.
Referencing testing he says "reducing contact isn't the only tool the government has in its arsenal. Testing is also an important part of curbing the spread ..." Up to now this has been via test sites or home delivered tests. They are maxed out. The government has now started to look at another option - mass testing "which would allow people to conduct at-home pregnancy-style tests to discover whether they were infectious on a daily basis." "Currently, he says, the scientists are trying to scale up what is called a lateral flow test so millions are available each day. These 15 minute tests would detect infectivity rather than diagnose Covid in all its forms ..." "The focus, he says, has turned very much to these tests over those that detect antibodies, which were oce branded a game changer."
Looks to me like AVCT's test works and it"only" needs scaling up.
