dusty, as an experienced trader one of the things we do is assess an rns very quickly. in fact i use automated tools written by myself as do many others to comb the 7am rns data to look for interesting things to look at.

one of the crude but best indicators is to p**** the first sentence or two of the rns detail looking for adjectives. if you see things like "delighted" or "exceptional" then you weight those rns items hard versus something like "pleased" which is basically you "well this announcement is nothing special but nothing bad"

you can then of course read the rns in full detail, but trust me all rns items that lead to big rises will have some kind of glam or bulling up in the first two sentences. if you don't believe me, check the history of this or other shares.

it's what us pros do. but to put your mind at rest, you'll definitely see profit on your buy if you hold it. unless you hold it too long

I'm simply saying that there is a high level of short interest in Solgold, in your earlier post you seemed to be implying that the short interest is only 0.6% so not significant - that isn't true by your own metric, days to cover.

One of the reasons it's a crude measure is that in the event of a positive news drop (which some of us are hopeful for this week), the actual volume doesn't then represent the average volume so in theory the short could close in far fewer than seven days. Nevertheless the indicator is used (mostly) for spotting bearish stocks or short squeezes.

Do I think it's being manipulated is your other question. Sure there are some odd bits of behaviour on the book but in my opinion our daily volume is far, far too low to indicate any significant manipulation. So in a word, no.

Days to cover is a very crude indicator that traders use to identify the potential of a short squeeze event. It's simply "how many days given daily volume would id take for the shorts to buy back their shares"

So it's shares short divided by average daily volume. Recennt volume averages circa 3m so with 20m shares in issue it's round 7 days

A figure above 5 indicates high short interest and bearish sentiment for the stock (or limited liquidity which would give the shorters confidence to go harder)

Double digits is extremely bearish but also of course in the event of a positive news drop a chance of that short squeeze so could conversely attract longs

P/E ratios are applied factually not speculatively. The Earnings here are zero. We are an explorer so the upside is mainly in discovering a resource that can be sold to a major.

Very . very few explorers become miners in their own right so P/E is perhaps the least relevant metric one can apply to a stock like this.
