Just as an aside, with gold at $3000 and silver at about $34 the 50:1 ratio is totally bust. Silver normally lags gold so it looks absolutely nailed on that silver will migrate towards around $60 per ounce

Might be a good move now to back a silver fund/index or some long spreads as the inevitable leg up comes.

You have to understand the decision to sell those could have been tactical not commercial.

For now, one small block like tenstar, DGR or Maxit puts either BHP or Newcrest back in the lead.

Another really simplistic way of estimating a mine's value is 1% of metal value in ground. For the PFS (which is only 22% of what's been discovered) we have 12.4m tonnes copper, 31.3m ounces gold and 26.8m ounces silver

Copper : $124bn

Gold: $94bn

Silver: $884m (so the "s.lag" is worth half the capex alone)

So that's a total of $219bn of metal giving an estimate of $2.2bn value right now.

Then factor in the other targets if they're to be included and the often undiscussed fact that there is 78% of the resource still to go at down the line and the value could be double that or more. Of course what brings true value is a competitive bidding scenario and I see it as East v West for this massive asset.

It's actually a fine example of how stupid Chat GPT is. It appears to be searching for the most relevant things online, attempting to aggregate and process them in some way and come out with an answer. But that answer is pretty much what most value it at!

My worry with tripe like Chat GPT is that it becomes as de facto as Google has done, and we all know that Google is programmed to censor and hide things it doesn't agree with. Chat GTP could become the BBC News on steroids for use in the information war/propaganda against the sheep of the world.
