Kind of agree pbow, it will evolve but in its own time when the technology is right and the price is viable. There are hundreds of years of coal, gas and oil left so there is literally no rush to try and get to clean energy to the detriment of prosperity. When an electric car is good enough and cheap enough, people will queue up to buy them.
China's dash for all things green are mainly to try and supply the rest of the world with poorly made tat. We've literally made a market for them to flood whilst destroying our own industry and goods.
Data centres for AI will need reliable energy not wind and sun, that's why Microsoft and Google are recommissioning old nuclear reactors or planning on building SMRs for power. Obviously lots of copper will still be used in their construction and tech. Copper certainly has a big market for this sort of advancement or even just basic modernisation in emerging third world nations, but we aren't going to be building brand new grids in every country in the next five years.
