Scooby your view is very top line, the fact is customers will need a lot of data to make an kind of informed decision; remembering you said the onus is on the customer to see if it works for them.
I'm currently reviewing an expensive piece of capital equipment, where batteries cost £8k for continual running. There's a lot of information needed to evaluate just that one component properly, number of charging cycles, charging cycle degradation, total life span, time per charge, cost per charge, cost per operating hour, replacement time and availability due to a failure. None of which I can do with the suppliers support.
Then I have to compare to other 3rd party options.
PHE know they have to provide this kind of information, which is why a lot of the tests are about feedstocks, so they can give potential scenarios to customers - which was confirmed in PE's message in the TG group.
