Our live Investing Matters Podcast Special which took place at the Master Investor Show discussing 'How undervalued is the UK stock market?', has just been released. Listen here.
Well(!), even that poster has felt the need to acknowledge drilling activity and the possible consequences for other companies. I suppose it takes some words from berating other contributors and the Machiavellian pursuit of Brombarb :-) VGLA
I'm not quite sure where some are coming from regarding our Science Day. It seems worth reflecting on the way our company could best use an opportunity like this. The event could be timed to coincide with a cohort of final news on assorted aspects of our (large) portfolio. What would be the point of that? Too late imo. The clear strategic choice would be to use this opportunity to raise awareness of Avacta in time for those invited to get ready to 'do something'. So, on the cusp of massive news but before it is released. It seems to me that this is what we have done and, imo, a very sensible corporate move. As ever, VGLA
07.41 - useful starting point:

If, as we all hope, Avacta is on the cusp of making history and about to take a giant leap forwards then the era of 7.00 am UK time RNSs might be drawing to a close. As Avacta forges links with 3rd parties it seems to me that these links fall, broadly, into 2 main categories. The first is organisational: corporate, legal, financial, service, etc, and will not be expected ti be 'SO Moving'. The second category is 'SP Moving': associations with companies to develop/sell, invest, buy, merge, also Index (NASDAQ), etc.. Again if, as we hope, the bodies in the 2nd category are BIG they are unlikely to be home-based in UK and, as such, will be quoted on other exchanges. Again, if Avacta is going to 'associate' with such a body then any substantive news affecting the other party needs to be released in an appropriate way. Certainly, if there is an American dimension and news relating to 'the bottom line' of such a company, then it seems reasonable to expect news when both markets are open and, most certainly, not on a day when the American exchanges are closed. I cut my 'AIM teeth' on an Ausie Oilie and RNSs were split - sometime 11.00 pm UK time and sometimes 7.00; it was a natural, assumed set of circumstances. Anyway, we shall see....(and, 'are we nearly there yet??? :-) ) VGLA
I am still waiting for substantive news before any thoughtful post; however, I shall raise one issue/possibility just before the update lands. Having been invested in some AIM listed companies over several decades there can be news events which lead to a suspension of share trading for hours, or even days. Aim rules state:
Maintenance of orderly markets
Precautionary Suspension
40. The Exchange may suspend the trading of AIM securities where:
? trading in those securities is not being conducted in an orderly manner;
If, as many of us hope, Avacta release a spectacular RNS then there is a real possibility that the dust will settle with some 'in'and others 'out'. Just something on which to reflect - it's probably part of 'there are no free lunches...'. Might post a copy of 'The Derampers Handbook' too as it is clear that it might help some readers here. Then, I shall return to reading and not posting until news. As ever, VGLA
15.26 - interesting thought. Also, no-one mentions PANR flooding problems at the moment. Starting to look like we are returning (belatedly, imo) to PB's agenda and his concerns about our neighbouring acreage as well as our own prospects. All hotting up....As ever, VGLA
