Europe lower in premarket trading on earnings, data
European stocks traded lower in Wednesday's premarket session amid the continuation of the earnings season. Deutsche Bank AG, Daimler AG, and Groupe PSA all presented their financial results for the second quarter of 2019 before the opening bell. Yesterday, the European Commission reported an unexpected increase in the consumer confidence in the Eurozone, while the International Monetary Fund once more trimmed its global economic forecast for the current year.
The FTSE 100 was down 0.06% at 8:07 am CET, while the DAX gained 0.13% at the same time. In Paris, the CAC 40 was trading flat an hour before the opening bell.
The euro lost 0.02% against the dollar to sell for 1.1148 at 0:09 am CET, while the pound rose by 0.04% versus the greenback to go for 1.2443.
