In the US were announced after the UK closed on Friday the price of crude rose approximately one dollar thereafter, so provided there is nothing newsworthy to counter the position Tullow should rise at the open come Monday.

European markets were lower in premarket trade on Friday after White House advisor Peter Navarro stressed that the US and China haven't reached an agreement on the removal of tariffs in phases despite indications from both Washington and Beijing a day earlier that the removal is likely. Before the opening bell in Europe, Allianz and Honda posted their quarterly results.

The DAX was 0.36% down at 7:58 am CET and the FTSE 100 declined 0.28% at 7:59 am CET. The CAC 40 was seen as starting the day 0.43% in the red as of 8 am CET.

The euro was 0.05% up compared to the dollar at 1.10515 at 8:01 am CET.

European stocks were set for a muted open on Thursday as investors braced for the interest rate decision from the Bank of England. The UK's central bank is widely expected to keep the rates unchanged, the same as it did in September.

Meanwhile, traders are likely to react to the latest developments in trade talks between the US and China after reports indicated that the signature of the interim deal could be postponed until December.

On the data front, market participants will be keeping an eye on industrial production figures for Germany, which expected to show a drop in September, house prices in the UK which analysts predict would rise, as well the ECB's economic bulletin.

The DAX traded 0.08% in the positive territory at 8:07 am CET after Siemens and Lufthansa released their quarterly earnings results. The French CAC 40 added 0.12% at 8:08 am CET. Meanwhile, the FTSE 100 traded flat a minute later.

The cable lost 0.12% at 8:10 am CET with the pound buying $1.28407. The euro declined 0.07% against the greenback, going for 1.10616 at 8:11 am CET.

Uganda eyes new Lake Albert FID date after offering 'solution'
Minister Irene Muloni puts ball back in Total, Tullow and CNOOC's court over stalled oilfield scheme

When questioned, Muloni would not reveal what the solution offered to the companies entailed – referring any questions to the trio of companies themselves.
“I don’t think it would be appropriate for me to start giving you the details of the solution for Tullow and its partners…
“On the part of government, our intention is to try to facilitate and support the process so that they can conclude the transaction quickly and take the FID.”

Speaking to Upstream at AOW,
Tullow Oil chief executive Paul McDade was similarly loathe to disclose any details of the solution that has been offered to it, Total and CNOOC.

“The partnership is now very focused with the government on saying, ‘Let’s work together to get the right foundation to move this project forward’,” McDade said.

“It is important that each party understands each other and what it is going to take to make this sort of investment. I think the government has listened now to actions, and the actions are, ‘We want to invest in the project, we understand that you want us to invest in the projects – so let’s find the right middle ground and let’s get the paperwork done.’”
McDade added: “When that dialogue matures, I think all parties would be able to talk about a new FID date – I think it would be inappropriate to speculate what that would be.

“I think for Tullow that is the time to think about the farmdown.”

(Reuters) - It is still too early to give a new timeline on a final green light for investment in Uganda's first oilfields, Tullow Oil Chief Executive Paul McDade said on Wednesday, reiterating Tullow's plan to sell down its stake.

"We will not (make an) FID (final investment decision on) the project at the current equity," McDade told Reuters. "To get the right conditions to sell down more of the project, we need more certainty over the progress towards FID."

Tullow's plan to sell another stake in its 230,000 barrel per day project in Uganda to France's Total and China's CNOOC, already partners in the fields, was called off in August due to a tax dispute with the Ugandan authorities

Equities on majors European stock markets traded with modest losses at the opening bell on Wednesday as investors digested the latest batch of quarterly corporate results and news concerning the trade talks between China and the United States.

Beijing and Washington are reportedly still not in the clear when it comes to signing of the phase-one trade deal next week as the Chinese government seeks for all tariffs to be removed prior to inking the agreement.

When it comes to earnings, Germany was in for the morning of strong results by Adidas, Wirecard, and BMW.

Meanwhile, factory orders in the Eurozone's largest economy rose 1.3% on a monthly basis in September but slipped 5.4% year-on-year.

The Dax decreased slightly, slipping 0.08% at the open while the CAC 40 lost 0.09% at the same time. The FTSE 100 fell 0.20% on the opening bell.

The euro was flat at 9:00 am CET, changing hands for $1.10765.

European stocks rose in premarket trading on Tuesday on hopes the United States and China will sign the so-called phase one of their trade agreement later this month. US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said Washington is "reasonably optimistic" about reaching a deal with China, while Beijing reportedly asked for certain tariffs to be removed in order to commit to buying up to $50 billion worth of American agricultural products.

The FTSE 100 added 0.47% at 7:36 am CET and the DAX was up 0.16% at the same time. The euro and the pound were both flat against the dollar, going for 1.11275 and 1.28804, respectively, at 7:37 am CET.

Crude prices jumped on Monday to maintain the growth in November after China shared optimistic expectations towards signing phase one trade deal with the United States, adding that Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Donald Trump are keeping contact all along.

The world's largest oil company Saudi Aramco officially announced it will go public for the first time which preceded the release of the company's quarterly results that displayed a 7% year-on-year revenue fall.

Brent for January delivery surged 1.62% at 8:13 am ET to reach its highest value since October 24 and trade for $62.59 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate achieved its top price in more than a month with a 1.21% rise for its December delivery at the same time to go for $56.88 per barrel.

Shares on European markets advanced in premarket trade on Monday following strong gains across markets during the previous session.

In economic news, manufacturing PMI data for Germany and the euro area was due, as well as construction sector activity figures for Britain.

Among companies reporting earnings, Irish budget airliner Ryanair was set to release its quarterly update.

At 7:21 am CET the FTSE 100 was up 0.26%. The DAX gained 0.44% at 7:25 am CET. At the same time, the euro was up just 0.03% against the dollar, buying 1.11691 as the pound was virtually flat versus the greenback, going for 1.29342.

The number of oil rigs in the United States decreased by 5 to 691 in the week ending November 1 compared to the previous week, according to the Baker Hughes weekly rig count released on Friday.

Meanwhile, the number of US gas rigs fell by 3 to 130 during the same week, bringing the total number of rigs in the country to 822. On an annual basis, the number of US oil rigs fell by 245.

In Canada, the total rig count was 142, down by 5 from the previous week. The number of oil rigs decreased by 9 to 93, while the number of gas rigs rose by 4 to 49. Year-on-year, the number of oil rigs in Canada fell by 28.

At 4:30 gmt crude was up around 2%, since the rig count data was released and crude is now up 2.7% every little helps, still it’s a long time till Monday.

European equities were higher in premarket trade on Friday despite looming trade uncertainty. On Thursday, it was reported Beijing will not back down over several sticking points in the trade deal with the United States, casting doubt over whether a long-term agreement is possible.

In corporate news, Peugeot and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles confirmed their intention to merge into the world's fourth-largest carmaker.

The DAX climbed 0.52% at 7:30 am CET, while the FTSE 100 gained 0.42%. At the same time, the euro was up 0.07% against the dollar, buying 1.11616 while the pound rose 0.12% versus the US currency, going for 1.29578.

European equities were mostly higher in premarket trade on Thursday after the US Federal Reserve cut rates for the third time this year. Meanwhile, Japan's central bank decided to hold rates.

Investors continued to keep watch over corporate earnings, as well as economic data, mainly GDP figures for the EU, the unemployment rate and inflation.

At 7:30 am CET, the German DAX was up 0.10%, while the FTSE 100 was flat. At the same time, the euro gained 0.08% against the dollar, going for 1.11592 as the British pound advanced 0.16% versus the greenback, buying 1.29199.
