European stocks traded mostly lower premarket on Monday as trade disputes between the European Union and the United States remained in investors' focus. France's Minister of the Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire stressed that, if Washington proceeds with imposing tariffs on French imports, his country would complain to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
Meanwhile, the latest poll said that the Conservative Party has the best odds to win the general election in the United Kingdom with 41% support, leaving behind the Labour Party with 32%.
The DAX and the CAC 40 traded flat at 7:30 am CET while the FTSE 100 lost 0.26% at the same time.
The euro was virtually unchanged, changing hands for $1.10620 at 7:30 am CET.
