The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 1.70% at the closing bell. The Nasdaq 100 advanced 0.79%. The S&P 500 grew 1.20%.

Prices of precious metals jumped on Monday as countries put efforts to curb the coronavirus effect on their economies worldwide.

The world may face the biggest recession in decades this year after being largely impacted by the outbreak, according to the World Bank's economic forecast, forcing investors to turn to safe-haven assets.

Palladium surged 3.35% to sell for $2,017.69 per ounce at 1:12 pm ET, while platinum added 1.72% at the same time, going for $836.67 per ounce. A minute later, gold climbed 0.88%, trading for $1,698.30 per ounce, while silver gained 1.56% to go for $17.68 per ounce.

Wall Street was mixed in premarket on Monday as investors remained cautious after United States President Donald Trump announced that he would rebuild the American economy once again. Later in the day, Trump is set to have a roundtable with law enforcement as protests over police brutality continue in the US.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.30% at 4:41 am ET and the S&P 500 was 0.11% in the green at the same time. Meanwhile, the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 decreased 0.08% at 4:42 am ET.

The euro was up 0.11% against the dollar, going for 1.13043 at 4:43 am ET.

The US Dow NASDAQ and the S&P500 all rallied into the close on Friday evening so the futures should be positive in the morning.

Online fashion phenomenon Boohoo has been criticised for a massive £50million bonus plan for its chief executive as its share price soars in the Covid-19 crisis.

John Lyttle will receive the huge sum if he increases the company's value to around £6billion in a five-year period to March 2024.
But the lockdown has boosted online retailers, accelerating Boohoo's share price growth – more than doubling its value to £4.8billion since Lyttle's arrival in March 2019.
Ahead of Boohoo's annual meeting on June 19, shareholder advisory group Glass Lewis has warned the company can expect a repeat of the 'significant level of protest' last year.
'We remain concerned with the lack of information surrounding the specific concerns raised by shareholders,' it added.

Boohoo said Lyttle was recruited from Primark due to his 'track record of achieving enviable growth rates' and the bonus plan yields nothing at less than 10 per cent growth a year.

I think high street retailers may report higher than expected trade/volume because people want to get out there, plus Anyone who was furloughed has plenty of cash.
