Mr. Patel 1 - Asda 0. A couple of years ago I got the 6 nephews beer gift packs in Asda for Christmas. The only sharp eyed nephew who had a problem was the one spending Christmas day with me. He thought I had bought them discounted as they were out of date. I phoned round the other mums whose sons had already drunk the contents of the packs with no ill effects. I don't keep food shopping receipts and Asda said they could do nothing so the small brewer, Hobgoblin, or something like that carried the can for Asda's lack of stock rotation and I have never been back since that day though I've bought Hobgoblin elsewhere. I think kwik save and Somerfield were around at the wrong time but kantar research is indicating that aldi and lidl are on the up and I tried to ignore their research about hmv. I tend to learn from my mistakes. As regards parking, my local hospitals have no car parking spaces for visitors and out patients. I'd park legally anywhere but I draw a line at hospitals. What happens is that a group of five arrive in a car first thing in the morning - park and jump on the train or underground to their work. Shocking. My haggis is ready so goodnight.

The buy 1 get 2 free on Birds Eye Products wasn't working in Octoberish when I was last in a Morrisons. Should really get in the habit of checking my receipts there and then as the petrol costs back to complain are not worth it. Did check that day and the girl on customer services refunded the overcharge but could shed no light on a free BE plate token apparently available from the till. Wrote to BE direct and got the plate - hardly a Royal Doulton collector's item but that's not the point. Emailed morrisons too as the promised phone back was not forthcoming hence the £5 gift voucher. With Sainsbury's my issues are a bit more serious. Local branch storing stuff in fridges which should be in a cool dry place and vice versa and the lights all out in the car park. Tesco are so desperate to get me through the door that my money off coupons for wagon wheels and milk etc. are valid for two uses. You are both so underestimating the structural changes imo and the threat of Aldi and Lidl. Very few Waitroses up here for the Delia and Heston luxury lines but no shortage of Co-ops who are getting my custom along with Lidl and Aldi and M & S only really for the dine in for £10 offer.

Hello, Not sure where Russell is - probably flaked out after his exertions with pog today lol. Was actually thinking of doing the train journey to Oban tomorrow as, along with the other fork from Crianlarich to Mallaig over the Glenfinnan Viaduct (Harry Potter), is thought to be one of the most scenic train journeys in the world. Right time to do it too with the leaves off the trees but think I'll wait for a clearer day with less rain. Only 200 or so returns outstanding - will they issue a deadline extension this year. Okay I've been busy - tax deadline looming 31st January and organising my forthcoming holidays. I don't take myself too seriously but there are very important people on these bbs lol at least in their own heads lol who expect me to treat them with respect rather than disdain. A few of them would be better off on advfn where they could edit their posts so that their share price/trend predictions always came true lol. Russell you watch out for the censors. Couple of very innocuous things disappeared when slightly more scary stuff is allowed to stand. Not everybody takes a fair-minded view of this freedom of speech malarkey and want it for themselves but not for others. I guess I was just shocked last night by a post that was racist and politically biased - neither of which bothered me too much as it was the Scots who were getting it in the neck and we can take that sort of thing without overreacting and and politicians are fair game along with others in the limelight but to mention somebody's disability is not within the Queen's berry rules. Off to get the dinner cooked.

Hi spotted - how did you know I had a picnic hamper in the garage. I'm thinking of making this my last post on a share chat site. I remember one of my old buddies on lse who was an absolute gentleman making his last post to me and he said simply take care these bbs are not for me. I've read some of the most obnoxious and devious stuff over the past few weeks or so and tonight I just about puked reading a post from somebody who was mocking the disabled. Anyhow going out on a high with two of my miners doing me proud and having gained a bit of savvy in spotting when many of the highs and the lows are coming. The bbs do have their uses and rbrand posted a very informative post today but it's a shame that people have to tread through a lot of other malicious stuff to read the odd gem like that and yes Russell you're right about hypocrisy being rife and the lack of humour and anguish/desperation/malice you can read in some folk's posts is just not for me any more. Very fitting that cup is that last post for me too. By and large, it's been a good bb though we've even had our moments here at times. The best of luck to you all xx

Hughsie - What if I was to tell you that I am happily married to an Englishman lol. The first part would be right and the second part would be wrong but I have several nieces, nephews, cousins etc. etc. all more English than Scottish and they are all very dear to me. I've only had one previous exchange with you on these bbs and that was in response to some light deramping you did probably before buying in here. We really need to focus on matters related to fres not personalities on these bbs. If you want shareholders to have a vote with regards to disposals then you would need to rewrite Aim's rules. Come on Iv, you know the score in this country. You can't fight city hall - all you can do is get witty writers at the beeb and Private Eye to do a bit of satire in the hope that things might change. Another programme from the beeb Scotland comedy stable at New Year was Chewin the Fat. One of the sketches had two witnesses sitting on the upper deck of the bus talking about giving evidence that morning in court and at the next stop on comes the accused who tells them not to grass him up or else. Further down the bus is the victim - bandaged from head to toe and she receives a similar warning. Further down the bus still are the jury who receive a similar warning and right at the back is the Judge who looks out from behind his broadsheet to exchange pleasantries with the accused whom he knows very well. The shareholders seemed happy with the disposal and I doubt if few of them would want Cup to waste resources taking on the beeb in what some see as a corrupt and rigged legal system. It's only you who wants to keep going on about what became chip paper wrappings months ago.

As a fellow Scot, I have had many discussions with nkotb about things and places which might as well be like talking in a foreign language to some of the English people on these bbs. I would though tone down the He said and refresh posts though as it can always be used against you. Many of us remember New Kid's predictions of £80 to £85 for rrs in late 2012 and early 2013 and recommending kaz as a buy about a year ago just now. So guys, as a woman can I just say that the problem with men in general is their giant sized ..... egos. We all read some price directions well and others not so. If you get the chance watch on the i player a programme screened in the BBC Scotland area called "Lawyers Behaving Badly" an interesting 30 minutes of viewing but forgotten about by most within an hour of being screened and any issues identified as needing addressed by our public authorities going nowhere. Same with share dealing, all the indignation last year about a three foreign oligarchs' "misdemeanours" and home grown Brits getting up to as much tricky dickery on a daily basis.
