I'm in the clear as I did have funds available at the time of application due to the complicated settlement days for buying and selling shares. You certainly gain something from having practical experience of these situations for the next time. I've sold my allocation purely because I'm off on holiday soon. It's obviously been very ppular and they are maybe going to have a second go so could be worthwhile to let it rise more lol. Went well for all at the dentist and I've just got in to find I have been allocated some tsb shares after all so I obviously couldn't raid my cash account quick enough lol. Quite a pleasant surprise really. I better start topping my cash account up pronto before anybody finds out lol.

When I was checking that paperwork out, came across a bond for myself which I had completely overlooked - due to mature in a few years. Hoc (another of the stocks which Dibs61 is recommending as a buy) has suspended payment of its divi as have other miners but not fres. Registered to receive any perks across the board and have never received a sausage without having to ask specifically for it. Not sure where it's headed as they are so reliant on supermarkets these days who will be looking for keen prices. Also a guy or gal on the tesco bb said that tesco are displaying stuff in newer stores in sections related to the country of origin i.e. Belgium and USA and were selling Hershey's. Never noticed them in any tesco branches near me. I wouldn't buy American choc but I might not be representative of the general public.
