I spoke too soon and Poppy is on a roll this aft. I think he is putting folk off buying tesco shares. Interesting about the multiple id thing. One of things I do like about iii, is that they have been asking people to provide id before joining for a while now. Pity though their bbs seem to be unfairly moderated and folk get away with posting complete fallacies about companies and extremely abusive posts on iii without much action being taken. lse, on the other hand, assume that somebody is using a multiple id if they post from the same ips address as another person. The reality is that a husband, wife and grown up child could all have their own portfolios and not be able to join this site if another family member has already joined. You'll get professional crooks on these bbs posting up their email addresses (against the rules) and inviting people to contact them. You do so at your peril because they will then use every trick in the book to gain information from you and use it against you if they can. In the early days, I fell for this but I was quick to cotton on and started to feed the person(s) concerned a load of bull as I realised there was something amiss when they were emailing me 6 or 7 times at 4 in the morning.
My husband says he's not bothered about not being able to post on lse as he really doesn't have the time. The laugh is though that we are not professional traders who would back each other up at every turn. In fact, I have been very critical on lse of some of the companies he is invested in and we have a laugh about it. Sometimes I have no idea what he is invested in and vice versa but, of late, we have started to pick some of the same stocks more frequently than in the past.
My son I don't think will be trying the share dealing. He wasn't partaking of the free beer on holiday in February but another boy a year older was. My son tried a little alcohol on Friday night and suffice to say he intends to abstain in future like your good self, his uncle Brandy lol.
