You could apply for a job with the company which is short selling these if you don't already work for them and you could muse on whether there is a scenario 5 or 6 here.

Don't really mind waiting around when there should be good news on the horizen for a company. It's the companies which are only expected to deliver bad or no news where I wouldn't necessairly hang around or begrudge doing so. I did say on cup a while back that I wanted to see some improvement in the share price before the Scottish school holidays or I would have to consider selling up there. Will get a divi there early next month which is always something and whilst there is takeover/disposal talk and up and coming audit result worth hanging on in there? ATB

Thanks very much for that. No mention of reintroducing the divi which is ultimately what would draw new investors in and old investors back here as opposed to short term traders. Very difficult to predict this share's movement given recent volatility and it would be nice to think that there was at least a divi on offer for anybody who guesses the movement wrongly. Love their white choc and was in a branch yesterday and spotted new white owls - ideal end of term gift for teacher or graduation/school exams' success gift so the new ideas do keep flowing.

This is nearly a week old but still pertinent:- ENRC, Suleiman Kerimov and the Sunday Times KAZ piece It was with a little wry smile that I read the Sunday Times piece on Kazakhmys this last weekend whilst enjoying the sunshine. Danny Fortson has also now alerted his readers to the completely nonsensical valuation that we have banged on about on this blog for the last 3 months. We will not regurgitate it again and simply point readers to the blog tab on the right to see the arguments we have put forth that the stock price is around 200-300p wrong in our opinion. What is intriguing to us is just where Suleiman Kerimov now sits with his circa 3% of ENRC. His average is around 270p and I do not buy the angle that he bought the stock (a) to help out the oligarchs and/or (b) he was looking for additional negotiation room at the table given his holdings in the banks that are to finance the takeover (VTB & Serbank). The very lack of additional purchasing in recent weeks by him tells us that he has now “been brought inside” and is likely to be jostling for his own and by default the minorities position. The news that he had written to the Board of ENRC pushing for a price of 400p makes clear that he sees the current proposal as woefully undervaluing ENRC. Should the deal go ahead (and with a 2nd extension recently granted and the SFO continuing to breath down the 3 oligarchs’s necks it seems almost inconceivable to us that it does not), Kerimov will wind up as a shareholder in KAZ. As the Sunday Times pointed out, should the bid level be increased towards the 300p level for ENRC then the cash receipt will transform KAZ’s balance sheet and the stock cancellation be materially EPS enhancing. In the even thay Ekibastuz is sold for north of £1bn, what is a nonsensical valuation becomes, in our opinion, the bargain of this cycle. If I were Kerimov, I’d be seriously sliding my rule over KAZ if the re-rating does not transpire on the ENRC bid conclusion. We're still at the stage we were at when alias and durby were posting opposing views on this bb. Some say kaz plc will not get the vote and others say they will not get the vote. If they do get the vote then they will have to consult their own shareholders as to how to vote and it's hard to conceive that the kaz govt. would be allowed to vote if they are part of the bidding consortium. I guess we need a formal offer before the Takeover Panel will give a ruling on this? Really starting to wonder if the consortium are having bother funding any sort of offer given Kerimov's not inconsiderable clout with the banks concerned which has even been on the increase of late. If no offer is forthcoming from the consortium, the free float here needs to increase by the turn of 2014 from 18 to 25%.

The RNS issued on 22nd January this year indicates that the CEO was holding 19,336,304, Sarah Haran 1,024,944 and Richard Logan 89,500 after the exercise and sale of options so I guess that must be accurate and the 0 holdings figures displayed on this web site require amendment.

Doing a bit of initial research here. Old Mutual recently upped their stake to over 5%. I know of some instances where lse's director holdings have been out-of-date in the past but is it correct that the CEO here, Angus MacSween is not currently holding any shares here? Any thoughts from the long-term holders on that? MacSween currently appears to be holding just over 3% in his brother-in-law's company, Cup plc.

Whilst hoping that the long-termers get as much out of this as possible, I hope this company gets taken over as soon as possilbe by the oligarchs, sulley or anybody else who can take it off enrc's hand. It's not paying a dividend, its share price is likely to be in the doldrums for one reason or another for a very long time and it is dragging the kaz share price down. There's a lot of silly stuff getting posted on the bbs now. As if this CFO would have the funds to pay out vast sums of money to aggrieved shareholders.

As you are invested in neither Kaz nor enrc - what are you worrying your pretty little head about. I used to think you were a bit of a character on the bbs but I have actually lost all respect for you now. People would respect you more on the bbs if you were candid and admitted that you like to short a range of stocks as a means of making money but all this negativity you generate about stocks you claim to be invested in or are thinking of investing in is becoming pretty tedious for readers. You've stooped a bit too low for my liking this time with your disingenuity which is designed to panic folk - possibly even oaps who are invested in this.
