It's all a question of perception I suppose. enrc has been reasonably kind to me whilst kaz has been an absolute stinker. We are really wasting time here talking about an offer which has yet to be tendered less than 24 hours before an extended deadline. But should the Takeover Panel take the view that kaz plc should not be able to vote, it puts a whole different complexion on matters. I see the kaz plc bb is getting a little busier now if you wish to continue speculating about future events but I think I better start living in the present tense.

You seem to have assumed earlier that as a kaz shareholder you will have a vote on any offer put forward by the consortium to acquire enrc. I was asking you it you were absolutely certain that as a kaz shareholder you would get the opportunity to vote should an offer be advanced by the consortium as it has been suggested in the past by other posters that the Takeover Panel could rule that kaz plc should not get a vote. And other posters have suggested that the kaz govt would not get a vote. There would need to be a formal offer advanced by the consortium of course before any minority enrc shareholders could take this matter up with the Takeover Panel. Goodnight.

You have been more vocal on this bb than you have been on the kaz bb yet you are not even holding shares here. I look forward to reading your stout defence of kaz plc on the appropriate bb. Do you think Seifert will desist from saying that there's as much rotteness about over there as he is saying there is over here now that he is considering buying in there. And will be hearing more from the Wighlady on the nationalisation of kaz plc. I think the more reasonable kaz share holders/traders will struggle to find a voice on that bb and some are already giving it the bodyswerve. The litmus test is when folk go on about reaching their breakeven because you just know they are desperate to get out as soon as it hits that level or thereabouts rather than hang about. Not even sure what my breakeven would be if I get a quarter of a share for each one held here because it's been hard to take this consortium too seriously. There are some decent holders of kaz like samunj but, hand on heart, I can't claim to have any enthusiasm for kaz and consider it to have been a bad investment but I'll look forward to returning to rio which I suspect Seifert is more than aware of. Could have been worse - I was looking at MXP last year the day before it slid from 8 or something to sub four and there has been no recovery there. Intend to steer clear of investments based in that country from now on in - and I guess I'm not the only person who will be thinking that way but I do hope you get your 12% profit there by next year.

I don't know how you feel about being invested in kaz plc if it proves itself to be a puppet of a company in this enrc buyout thing but I know how I feel. It doesn't help me any either that you have some of the biggest rampers on the lse on that bb either. The ones who tell you when they are buying but omit to tell you when they are selling lol and, in my experience, have never achieved any of their optimistic price predictions for a share yet. Who says kaz plc will gain any advantages to no longer having the govt as a shareholder. It might actually be a disbenefit. If there is a bid from this consortium tomorrow then can you be absolutely certain that kaz plc and yourself as a kaz shareholder will get a vote? There was a post on interactive investor some time ago that indicated that the Takeover Panel could rule that kaz plc will not get a vote since the government is a shareholder in both kaz and enrc and is part of the consortium and not only that but kaz shares would be used to fund this proposed deal. The words conflict of interests spring to mind. Wonder what Kerimov's thinking is.

Not sure what you mean about "we" got lucky." Who is we? Sharendipity hasn't t got lucky with enrc yet as he/she holds at a loss. As far as I'm aware, you are currently holding neither enrc nor kaz so the only way you could have got lucky so far is if you have been shorting kaz - but then if you are not honest enough to admit that then that makes you as dodgy as the many others you seek to criticise on these bbs and if you carry on posting in the manner you do then Ant 1986 isn't the only one who will be putting you on filter so for one reason or another, no you wont be chatting with me tomorrow. If an offer is forthcoming tomorrow then it has to be voted on and I don't think there's even any clarity as yet as to who will be able to vote .

No I am one of the posters on here who hasn't been ADAMANT about anything. I'm still not adamant about anything. It's yourself and Seifert who are claiming to know for sure how things will pan out without qualifying your statements with language such as possible, probable unlikely etc. Financial journalists can be as corrupt as all the other players on these stages as far as I'm concerned. I await the confirmation of the outcome here via rns not via other bb posters and newspaper articles.

This article is actually worth reading in full in that it is able to quote comments made by a named source i.e. the kazakhstan Foreign Minister. From the article "Officials also worry about Kazakhstan’s involvement in the oligarchs’ plan to take ENRC private, saying it made little sense to buy back a company that is being investigated by the SFO and could potentially be liable for massive fines." With kaz at its year low on Friday and enrc at below the tentative offer level and near the year low point, the market seems to be speculating that there will be no formal bid on Monday. Why would the bidders need to delay a bid until the eleventh hour in any case if they are desperate to seize ownership asap. No offer would suit some as there are no collective we in these situations though sharendipity says there is. I would view a bid from Kerimov for enrc as being positive for kaz share price as well as good for enrc in its current situation. Can't understand why the kaz govt. would want to lose its stake in kaz plc with the developments on the go at kaz over the next couple of years. There's subterfuge around here. Commodity share price fortunes are cyclical. We investors can also take comfort from the traders' old adage: sell in May and return on St. Ledger's day. I may have called you a smart cookie yesterday for trading enrc not kaz over the past few months which has been my own tactic but you're not that smart. You have posted like a greedy trader over the past few months with your position at any given time all too obvious for readers. When you have wanted to buy more here, you would employ scare tactics and vice versa. In a way, your sort are worse than Seifert who has at least maintained a consistently gloomy line. The tentative offer from the consortium was rejected out of hand for being woefully inadequate so they are hardly likely to come up with an offer which is worth less than that or the same in value as that so they are either going to come up with an improved offer or no offer. If it's the latter case then they have to walk away for six months unless another extension of time is granted which would seem unlikely. You're not a kaz shareholder but I am. kaz's reputation is on the line here if they don't make efforts to extract the maximum value for their "assets" Forget the traders, read what long-term kaz shareholders with voting rights think over on the bb last night. If the consortium are told to shut up for six months would the share price fall further?. Maybe - but it's not far off its year low point now! In that six months, the free float shortfall would have to be addressed and if Kerimov does have any designs on owning this outfit then that's when he would make his move on a company which let's face it probably needs a new owner as it is not performing well, has axed its divi and will be coming under the radar of the SFO. But we all have a good idea of the minimum Kerimov would have to bid don't we. Good luck to all the minority holders here - especially those in long-term. "What has all this achieved" The possibility that the oligarchs were only doing a spot of kite flying was talked about right at the outset on this bb. Everybody seems to be assuming that these guys are desperate to regain full control of the company but where's the proof of that. They might be as eager as some other shareholders to sell out for the best price they can get. And yes there's been a delay in the company being forced to address the free float shortfall which would impact on the oligarchs position here and the company has certainly gained flattering attention from Kerimov and others so folk are at least asking if the situation is as black as is being painted by certain sections of the media and posters like seifert.

I agree with you. If you made a mistake in thinking that Kerimov had sold all his shares here and posting a comment to that effect on this bb then you shouldn't be dabbling in things you obviously know nothing about.
