I used to wonder why you had shares in so many companies but confined your posting mainly to this bb. The av. bb operates much like this one and one of their posters thinks it's the best on lse. It is rather calm but a bit of an advertisement board for other shares some of the posters happen to be in - assuming anybody is actually reading the bb. And sometimes there seems to be too much unison about things which doesn't really reflect real life and a chartist who appeared recently was given a bit of a hard time. I know some folk like the quiet life but personally I am not sure I can understand why people would get too much from not posting on the actual bb other investors in the particular share inhabit - then again you can get precious little from the actual bb lol. I didn't even know until I started reading this bb that we were invested in so many of the same shares but maybe not always at the same time.
There was the usual advice given to a poster this week about not putting all the eggs in one basket and, whilst that's sound, I do wonder if having shares in too many companies makes things difficult to monitor. I was surprised last year that you held on to the end with the retailer that went bust as it didn't really have much of a chance after the "likely to breach covenants" rns. Then again, I read what you lost and it was such a tiny sum that you either traded it very heavily or had a lot less in than me although our off bb pal NL indicated to me that you had loads in there lol.
I suppose with all these drip and scrip divi things you do , you maybe do find yourself holding tiny amounts in certain things from time to time but I am sure even after your rationalisation programme you will still have shares in loads more companies than me.
