There are 223m shares in treasury, presumably because no punters want to buy them. If they are not cancelled then they will be sold back in the market when the shares are rising, hopefully at a profit, but holding back the rising share price. Issued shares amount to around 1,260m. It is quite a lot of shares to get rid of usually in dribs and drabs and will act as a drag on any rise for a long time
