Helium pricing is notoriously difficult to track because it’s not publicly traded like oil or gold, and prices vary depending on purity, contracts, and region. That said, there are a few good sources to keep an eye on:

1️⃣ Edelgas Group & Gasworld – These provide market reports and insights into wholesale helium pricing trends. Gasworld sometimes publishes spot price estimates.

2️⃣ US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) – While the US Federal Helium Reserve is being wound down, past BLM auction results give an idea of how prices have evolved.

3️⃣ Recent Industry Deals – Reviewing off-take agreements and sales contracts from helium producers can give an indication of pricing trends.

4️⃣ Investor Reports & Broker Notes – Occasionally, research firms publish helium price forecasts, though these are harder to access without a subscription.

Unfortunately, real-time helium price charts don’t really exist like they do for other commodities, but most sources suggest wholesale helium is currently selling in the $400-$500 per Mcf range, with premium pricing for high-purity helium.

@CrustyPete and all, we need more of these discussions as we’re approaching the business end of our investment. Your points are well made - Colorado alone won’t take HE1 to 5p immediately, and the market will want to see proof of scalability before assigning full value.

That said, I’d say 2.5p may be a little cautious, especially if flow rates exceed expectations or helium pricing holds firm. With early wells set to generate revenue, a clear path to scaling up production could prompt the market to re-rate beyond 2.5p in anticipation of expansion. As always, the market moves on forward-looking growth, so a well-structured development plan could easily justify 3p+ in the near term. Although, I agree that Colorado’s impact will be hard to separate from Rukwa.

Either way, we’re at the stage where results will do the talking - exciting times ahead! 🚀🔵

@Crypt – Totally agree, I kept the estimates on the conservative side because, well… you know how it goes - say anything too bullish and the usual suspects will be out in force calling it a ramp! 😂

That said, once you factor in Colorado success + Rukwa ML approval, things could shift a lot faster than some expect. A producing asset in H1 2025 + a fully permitted flagship project could make today’s 0.985p look like a steal in hindsight. The market loves de-risking events, and we’ve got plenty lined up. 🚀🔵

With HE1’s first Colorado development well due to spud imminently, we’re entering a critical phase where the company could transition from explorer to helium producer. With a current 0.985p share price (£60.1M market cap), the market doesn’t seem to be pricing in much for Colorado yet - but could that change as key milestones unfold?

✅ Spud & Drilling Begins (Feb 2025) – Confirmation that development is underway. Could this alone push us back above 1.2p?

✅ Successful Drill Resukts (March/April 2025) – If strong concentrations & flow rates are confirmed, does a move past 1.5p-2p seem fair?

✅ First Production Confirmed (H1 2025) – Revenue generation would be a huge milestone. Would the market re-rate toward 2.5p+ at this stage?

✅ Expansion & More Wells Online (Late 2025+) – If Colorado scales up as a cash-generating asset, could this become the stepping stone to 3p-5p+ (not including Rukwa for this purpose)

We’ve seen how helium scarcity is driving pricing and demand, and if HE1 nails execution here, Colorado could provide early cash flow.

CP, you raise some valid points regarding HE1 selling helium at the wellhead rather than handling processing and export. If that’s the route they take, the price per Mcf will be lower than the global helium market price, but the trade-off is reduced operational risk, lower capex, and quicker cash flow generation. Pricing could still fall within the $300-$400 per Mcf range rather than the full $500+ per Mcf.

I believe this could still support a strong valuation; even with conservative pricing, £150M-£250M ($190M-$320M) is achievable, translating to a 3p-6p share price range.

Ultimately, it de-risks the project rather than weakening the investment case. The key drivers; flow rates, reserve upgrades, and production scaling, will be the real catalysts, and these will become clearer with the CPR, financing news, and further development progress.

Here’s why I think 6p-9p based on Tanzania alone.

Looking at HE1’s potential, a realistic share price range depends on recoverable reserves, production scale, and helium pricing. Using a conservative helium price of $500 per Mcf and assuming 30 producing wells, even a moderate flow rate could generate around $40M+ annual revenue. If HE1 retains 50% ownership post-financing, that’s $20M net revenue per year. Applying a reasonable 10-15x earnings multiple, HE1’s valuation could land between $200M-$300M (£160M-£240M), equating to 3.6p - 5.4p per share based on 5.5B shares in issue.

If production scales up beyond 30 wells or helium prices remain elevated, revenues could exceed $30M+ net, pushing valuation above £360M+ ($450M+ USD) and share price into the 6p-9p+ range over time. In the near term, catalysts like the CPR, mining licence, and financing will drive the next major re-rating.

The numbers stack up; HE1 just needs to execute. 🚀🔵

It’s true that we can’t assume 138 bcf will be fully commercialised, and the 2021 NAV estimates were made before recent drilling and the Itumbula EWT. Until we get an updated CPR, exact figures remain speculative.

That said, the revenue estimates provided are highly conservative. Assuming only $1M per well per year significantly undervalues helium’s premium pricing and the scalability of production. If flow rates at Itumbula are repeatable across 25-30 wells, revenues could be substantially higher. Additionally, offtake agreements at premium pricing and potential resource upgrades in the CPR could change the financial picture entirely.

Even under a conservative 10-15x earnings multiple, Blubay’s model suggests a valuation range of 6p - 9p, which is already multiples of today’s price. If recoverable reserves exceed expectations, helium prices remain strong, and HE1 retains a larger project stake, this valuation could easily be higher. While caution is understandable, the upcoming CPR, financing news, and production scaling could prove to be major re-rating catalysts.
