Hope you are right Judge-mental as like you I am heavily weighted here but I would sooner an announced agreed delay than BPC not being able to drill due to the impact of COVID-19. I don't really care what happens to the SP if an agreed delay is announced. I would just buy more because it would remove the COVID-19 risk and more time will be allowed to prepare for the drill and farmin negotiations which means we would be on more solid ground.

AND.. if BPC manages to pull off the drill as projected all the more better imho.

Well that's down to the Bahamas Government but a lack of support from them in these extraordinary times with BPC would mean majors would have to factor in political risks and investors have long memories. They will always say look what happened to BPC due to politics and will add that to risk assessments going forwards meaning that the oil stays in the ground. Look at Cuba or don't as the case may be..

Anyway, I'm hopeful still and like I said get it cheap whilst you can.

Just like I anticipated yesterday COVID-19 is causing delays and this has put drilling back a bit. However, I think that the Bahamas Government is going to have to support BPC by allowing an extension on deadlines. COVID-19 is a pandemic which hasn't been seen in 100 years. It's rapid and extraordinary requiring a special response from governments and central banks in stimulus measures and supporting the economy. The Bahamas which services tourism and cruises will be severely impacted and opening a new industry frontier in oil is required more than ever. imho.

Well, if we read not between the lines but on the facts as reported there is no indication that drilling won't go ahead.

As for the rest of it, reading between the lines, I very much doubt the Bahamians will not exploit any commercial discovery. With all that wealth down there and the Bahamians becoming extremely wealthy beyond imagination with a population of only 396000 with Mid East size gushers go figure...

But, virus is real and we have to be realistic. 10% end up in intensive care. 3 to4 % don't make it past a month and when you catch it it leads to rapid deterioration .. unless your strong enough in the immune system or become a super carrier. 40% experience just mild flu symptoms that leaves 60% who don't. 3 to 4 % of a population of over 60 million, etc, is a lot of deaths hence the reason why governments are taking it seriously.

Think the Bahamian Government would be able to understand that COVID-19 is a pandemic and they have to make allowances for businesses including BPC. So, I'm thinking of extending the license is on the cards. Of course, they could just go ahead with the drill if BPC is able to get the resources in place to drill alone.

Who knows.. let's see.

Yes, I know of 2 in the office that have got it after a trip to China and at least 1 person in the centre of London. Luckily for me I'm not in contact with any of them.

I'm increasingly now verging on a different strategy given the COVID-19 crisis. My view is the postponement of any expectations I have on any stock I hold and a longer term view of investing given available sums.

Therefore, I'm expecting postponement with developments even with BPC. I'm expecting BPC to go further south and if any news of delay occurs over COVID-19 I'm prepared to weather it and seek to top up lowering any averages. This, of course, depends on if the Bahamas Government agrees due to the COVID-19 crisis to extend the current BPC drill deadline which I think could happen and possibly a license extension. Given that many Bahamians have invested in the mutual fund, those in the know or the right people in Bahamian circles.

Apologies to all if this is coming across negative but without any RNS indicating what the BPC policy is in the face of the COVID-19 crisis to indicate the contrary this has to be the safe approach.

I'm now looking at postponing BPC expectations for up to a year.
