Why can't it be as simple as the seller is selling for a profit according to a pre-determined strategy? That's usually the case with these sorts of things. I'd be very suprised if the company are in a position to say definitively at this point what the flow rates are, or might be in future. Let's spud the thing first eh?

Any evidence that 'a low flow rate might be just around the corner'? One could just as plausibly assert that the greatest flow rate ever recorded might be just around the corner. Who knows?

Certainly it seems that investing and holding for any period of time is becoming a mug's game. We all hold on for when the big news comes and then even when good news arrives the SP goes down. I must have been either in this or following this for seven years at least and it's never really gone anywhere apart from the ridiculous spike a long time ago when it surged to something like an MCAP in the hundreds of millions. Mind you, even then you had posters on here arguing that the valuation was justified and anyone saying otherwise was a deramper!

Yup. It's becoming almost impossible to make money on shares like this unless you're a financier or an MM.

Agreed Harry. She's part of the scam whether she was aware of it or not. I have multiple comms from her indicating that things were going well, that the JV was in the bag, that she had a number of 'savvy investor' friends who had sunk a lot of money into COPL blah, blah, blah. If nothing else she needs to be put on the stand and cross-examined as to how much she knew about Millholland's lies when she chose to endorse them.

A more basic question to Bad Prophet - why are you even invested in MATD? If you're not, why are you posting on here? Your right of course, but to what end? Why waste your time? Any answers, but please don't say anything which claims to involve some kind of altruism on your part. Best wishes

Was just going through old emails rom Cathy Hume and was wondering if Mr Cotter will want any of them wrt targets etc. Any advice RBM? I don't want to contact MC directly to ask as I'm sure he is currently swamped with emails. I have gems such as this from March 2023;

I now see so much of what she said as deliberately misleading.

That's dilution, which is always a danger but the compnay would go on as an entity.

If MATD does get all its ducks lined up, it'll be a target for sure as a bigger fish could pick it up for peanuts. Saw it happen with Ithaca Energy. Shareholders waited for years through all the pain and pitfalls and once everything got sorted it got taken out for a fraction of its real value. COPL got stolen from its shareholders in what was effectively a scam. UKOG got diluted to oblivion, literally to nothing. And so on. The level of utter greed and corruption and ruthlessness in O&G in particular is mind-boggling.

Further on that theme, I think I'm right in saying that JV turns seventy in a couple of years, unless somebody can correct me. I can't see any evidence of a plan of succession so this adds to my feeling that the final act here will be a sell-off and liquidation. Only guessing, but I can't see the sp rising naturally to such an elevated position that JV starts cashing a few in.

I agree Silverknight. I've been holding here for some time and am hoping that JV has been building the portfolio and NAV for precisely that. My view is that he's waiting for Lagoa Salgada to finally play out wrt Ascendant with a view to them buying MAFL's remaining chunk, then liquidate the lot before he gets too old to enjoy the windfall. Once the NAV goes over 40p I think he'll pull the trigger. That seems a long way off but it's not if you think of the potential exponential growth possible here over the next twelve months. Getting 40pps for him is a sizeable payoff for his efforts.

I'm not sure if others have made this point, but RNA's like yesterday's are nothing to do with updating shareholders but are everything to do with creating enough volatility in the market for big holders to offload and for MM's to subsequently load up with cheap shares which they then sell on to unsuspecting punters who love the 'good' news. Everyone's a winner...except for the poor newbie shareholders, or those who top up, who get spiked. Buck knew exactly what he was doing with the wording of yesterday's release and it worked to perfection. I've seen yesterday happen dozens of times in the O&G space in particular - anyone who was in COPL for any length of time will have seen Millholland do the exact same thing over and over again. Investors have to get their heads around the idea that seemingly good news RNA's are often no more than a linguistic wolf in sheeps' clothing. The whole system is massively weighted against those at the bottom of the food chain, like us. As many have said, nobody is rewarded for being an investor now. Be a shark, not a stickleback.
