Judging by today’s price I’m happy with my timing. Have a couple left at €1.4 so still an interest but the fin techs are going to destroy these so called pillar banks. Proceeds have gone into square and PayPal as a result. GLA
Finally given up on this share after 6 long years of disappointment. Gradually got my average down to €4.10 but I feel there is much better options out there in similar industries. The recent decision on new App just shows how far behind boi is. Anyway, reinvested it in square and PayPal which I feel has so much more potential. Best of luck to everyone, I’ve kept a small amount that I bought at €1.45 to keep some skin in game but I really don’t hold much hope.
I’m sad to say this but I totally agree with you in this. I’m very doubtful I’ll ever get back to where I need to be in order to break even (€4 per share). The Fintech industry is going to destroy banking as we know it, I see Jack Ma is launching an IPO for Ant now and the like of Cardano crypto are going to be behemoths very shortly. Combine Covid and brexit and it’s not a pretty picture for traditional banking.
Nobody cares!!!
I’ve dipped in again to reduce average, liking the trend so fingers crossed
Point 4 is very valid.
Pharma companies being nationalised??? Eh how and why???????
Some good opportunities in pharma lads, as safe a bet as you can get in equities. I’ve topped up on Lilly, Regeneron, Mylan & Pfizer. Would love to buy more BKIR to average down but there’s better places to be putting cash now as far as I’m concerned.
Agreed. Mary Lou and her pals very very quiet. Muppets.
Lemeak has been preaching doom for over 3 years on this thread, if he took his own advice and sold at €6 why is he even on this chatroom now? Either he was bluffing and still has skin in the game or he is a troll.
Nah, your opinion isn’t useful nor cared for during these times pal
I’m tempted, I really am as my average is nearly €6 however patience could be a good thing, I don’t think this is going to bounce back very quickly and there has to be worse to come once sme’s go bang and then some larger companies fall (airlines/hotel groups/betting companies). I’m sure credit lines are being secured by the big boys boi may find themselves at the back of the queue. Too risky at this stage lads. There are better bargains out there if you want to stick with equities, I’m putting my cash into pharma which is holding up better than most. GLA
I’m getting concerned now. Gardai have also leased additional vehicles and drafted in as much personnel as possible. On both a national and global scale we are in for some very rough times. Will the government plunder private pension funds and deposits now to pay for all that’s going to be required??
I’ve just heard Aercap have drawn down on 4Bn credit line. Getting very serious now
Spare a thought for Boeing. If this continues they are dead and what sort of contagion will that cause??
Took the plunge today and bought some more, average now down to a little under €6 so a long way to go, GLA
I think we should all take a step back and have a look at this long term. This is a complete overreaction on many fronts. A well capitalised bank with a (sort of) monopoly in a very strong market is now priced at a level which I see as a long term bargain. I feel a lot of pain too as my average cost on over 10000 shares is in the low 7’s however I can’t ignore that the share now has p/e of approx 6 and is paying dividends of around 5%. If we get closer to 2 tomorrow I’m going to fill my boots. This bank can’t and won’t fail, keep the faith and GLA.
Market seems to like it, up nearly 5% today.
Closely followed by benchmarking public sector pay to the private sector, thanks Bertie. In my opinion this has had a disastrous effect on current and future government purse and is always overlooked/forgotten.
You are 100% correct on every single point you made. Homelessness is not as bad as it seems, the system is being played. I have seen people on welfare refuse houses because “they weren’t close enough to their Ma”. Infuriating.
