Very pleased with how the SP has performed today. My own view is that it will progress towards results up to 40p. I'd be suprised if we broke that.
As a regular user of domestic and international carriers I'm facinated by the DX express business model. Unlike all their UK competitors they do not us access/drop off points and only offer a collection only so far. This is labour intensive, you need fleet, drivers and volume, not to mention the soft margins that DX have already admitted and hefty competition. It costs me £6.50 exc VAt to send a pair of shoes in the UK. On the margins that must be available it must cost more in fuel to drive to me out in the sticks than the money they make in the transaction. To be fair to DX they have said that they are investing in fleet, depots and drivers. To provide the exemplary service they aspire to in face of low margins and fierce competion in the domestic standard parcel market that is completely price driven seems very bold to me. If you are collecting all the time the their costs per transaction will be substially higher than all their competitors in this market.
I'm a great fan of Dx, they are experienced and it will be interesting how it pans out.
