Good to see a few depot sales manager vacancies appearing on the Dx website. No real time to have any effect in this financial year ending July 21. Next year will really tell us a lot.

I agree with Chelsea Deep. The AIM is absolutely shark infested. But some companies are more exposed to the sharks than others. The Aim is full of companies with no apparent clear strategy, directors who don't really communicate, constant fund raises, share dilution with the promise of better things to come and the only thing that really happens is the directors pockets get deeper.

There may be life changing investments on AIM... but both ways.

The only thing an investor can control is the profit or loss and it depends where you are on that spectrum which is determined by your attitude to risk.

When you hold a share it is natural to view a share positively. Many make the mistake of hanging on for more profit. There are always pot holes in the road but it is also understanding how the markets react to news and that only comes with experience. Worry is the worse thing but that goes the longer you invest and the more confidence you have in your investments.

In selling some yesterday, I'm sure I have left some money in the table but that's my strategy and I have already invested it somewhere else. Don't forget Deep Lombard got in a similar price to you and AB if that was true and they don't mess about.

What ever you do I hope that you will be comfortable with it and the worry starts to fade. Best . P.

Personally I don’t worry to much about charts. Three things I really look for are margins, profitability and debt. With DX you are investing in a clear and transparent turnaround strategy and directors have so far delivered. To me that is a reason to continue. If I had your investment and profit I wouldn’t be selling purely as I think there is further headroom and sentiment is certainly positive. But if I was worrying about losing some of the 1200 profit then to be honest I would take it. In saying all that I sold some today as the sp has doubled since I first invested and I automatically sell at that point.Regardless that I think there is more SP growth I have always learnt to take emotion out of it and take my profit. None of this is advice it is just what I would do. It’s difficult if you are new the game and sympathise but it is a decision for you.

Deep, I wasn't trying to put you in your place and I know full well in what context you were talking ... in fact I regretted my post. You are right... it is what it is, we all have to make the best of it. I've reached an age for a while now where I have realised how lucky I am to have been born in free, relatively wealthy country where there is plenty of opportunity. Millions will never experience it. I'm fortunate to have a business, a little spare cash to invest to help my kids on their way but I'm conscious that very often money is made at others expense.

Anyway, I do enjoy this discussion board. In fact it is only one I now post on as most contributors here talk a lot of sense rather than just pie in sky sp predictions.

Well Deep, I agree with with everything you say apart from endorsing the change to on-line shopping as against the high street. Sure it will ultimately be good for DX and there are no doubt advantages but the downside is the job losses, the change if the fabric of our towns and cities, the loss of identity, community, loss of revenue to the local councils. Replaced by the faceless multi billion enterprises who employ bright boys perhaps with bent pencils exploiting loop holes paying less tax than I do. That is of course..... progress. !

Yep. I'm still chuckling about the Andy Brough interview. I can't believe AB or his team were not aware of the director buying and growth of DX SP last year. It wasn't rocket science, basic research was all that was needed.If he needs twitter tips like that perhaps he was right to hand over Schroder lead late last year. I agree Chelsea. It seems a bit negative. Mind you I take any analyst view with a pinch of salt. All you can go on is what the directors have done and continue to do. DX have a clear strategy and clarity of thought and actions. Not so common on the AIM. !

It seems that Dx want to be the best at what they do. I certainly think they can dominate IDW. By focusing on the UK perhaps the guys at DX have seen an opportunity while the international carriers are struggling with the implications of brexit which have caused immense parcel delivery problems in UK to/from Europe which really has been a shambles since new year. I know to my cost.

Increasing market share through better customer service. ? . Well if they do that to any degree especially in express... no one will applaud louder than me.

As a regular user of domestic and international carriers I thought I'd clarify a point I made last week for those investors who may not be familiar.

The major comparison sites for Parcel express delivery are: Parcel Monkey, Interparcel and Parcel2 Go. If you type in- a 1Kg package to the UK you will see that DX aren't competitive. However, If you have an account with DX, DHL et al we generally get better prices. As far as I am aware DX are are the only company that uses depot based sales teams as against a centralised sales team at HQ. Therefore DX success in taking express package market share depends almost totally on how good the localised sales teams are at identifying new business, building relationships etc. I for one like the theory only time will tell if it works in practice. ?

Agreed Chelsea. The trading updates will be more important than confirmation of the new depots.

Although 40p by year end is realistic, it's a very big ask via organic growth in an established competitive market. So they really need to be shooting the lights out and exceeding expectations.That said, increased profitability and musings of a dividend return would be positive.My concerns on the DX express product are well known but we invest in the company and not the product and I have faith in the board.

Chelsea, The three major price comparison sites for carriers are: parcel2go, parcel money and interparcel. If a business doesn't have a contract with a carrier many will use these sites as a comparison for whatever they send. Single item 31Kg as you suggest is IDW and it's only really DX who offer this. The problem for DX is the smaller packages2, 3, 4kg that can be automated and DX at the moment are not close enough to the other carriers. Hence local sales teams and local depots building relationships with the local customers for express becomes even more important. It's a problem for DX as they don't have the brand awareness. For me though it's part of wider exit strategy.

Interesting that the owners of DHL have posted best ever results for Q1 beating market expectations. Obviously a much bigger beast than DX with a worldwide presence but nevertheless their UK presence is substantial so it has to be seen as a positive for the UK.

Agreed Pianista. The potential sale of the company does intrigue me or the exit strategy.

I think it was the PIworld article on DX that suggested a medium term target price of £1. That's some organic growth in a competitive market and you'd really have to make waves to get there other than an offer for the company. It's interesting to note that freight vacancies are still twice as many as express. Any figures will be interesting but I'll really be interested in strategy for the next few years and whether it lends itself to a potential sale of the business.

Nice to have some continued positivity both. I'm a little more conservative.

I think we know roughly what to expect with the trading update and the new depots have been sign posted so I personally can't see any major drivers currently for SP growth above the mid to late thirties. I think the real challenges for DX are 21/22. Hopefully the economy will continue to open but if we are to continue organic growth it has to come from somewhere and I still favour freight.

As Lloyds said in his results presentation of year ending 2019, DX is relatively unknown in the standard parcels market that has it's advantages and disadvantages. Currently they do not have a service offering that is any better or cheaper than DHL, DPD or UPS who are their major competitors on next day. In the B2C market there has to be a reason to change to DX. No-one has been able to sustain ETA or inflight changes consistently in Covid Times and it remains to see seen how this plays out as society opens up. 21/22 will tell us how much progress has been made in taking market share from the established players in the B2C standard parcel market.

There is no doubt the turnaround todate has been remarkable so credit to the board but the real work really starts now. Let's hope the sales and marketing teams are up to it.

lower. Sorry you had an experience not up to expectation. I've been sending thousands of parcels UK and worldwide for years and your experience is more than common.If you get a package delivered on the day you expect it then in my view that's good service. I've had UPS take four days to deliver a next day package 20 miles away. DPD have lost at least four signed for packages to the EU and plenty more late deliveries from every carrier there is. In my view it's virtually impossible to provide accurate data on a constantly moving package in a volume business and covid has severely affected deliveries.

Maybe you'll have better luck next time.
