The hyperbolic media propaganda will make you belive that a country which spend 3.5% of the world's milliatry spend can compete with the USA (40%), even the EU spends twice as much.

Russia could not even defeat the ukraine, yet we are meant to believe that they are going to attack the baltic states.....

Collapse is financial. You don't increase spending magically with impacts.

Spending will get out of control or do people not understand the EU?

The spending increase is going to splinter the EU. Causing more inflation, or have we not learnt from covid?

Additionally, 20 billion is going toward Russia from the EU. Also, direct trade is still happening. There are multiple questions regarding why they having money for war, but for their localised issues none?

The Italians already want to extend budget spending into none defence areas.

Moreover, already in Germany, the Greens are against increases in their spending.

If you look at the uk, the cut of fuel allowances for the elderly because of a "black hole" in their budget. Ukraine apparently has an open ended cheque.

Basically, the collapse will happen people start to question spending while at the same time paying billions to Russia for oil. Also, there are multiple EU companies still doing trade with Russia via Estonia.

@aiewarrior, just for a geographical lesson, Russia's great fear is China and their claim to Siberia.

Therefore, there is a 0 chance of them moving into the Baltics based on their issues with Ukraine, the issue with China, and the fact that they lack the man power.

You can fight multiple fronts from Russia against multiple enemies, look through out history and see why your assumptions are way off.

@ loungelizard, personally, I have made money from my investment in Ferrexpo. That is what freecarying mean, at a min you have taken out the initial investment.

What is left is my subjective acceptance of risk. Risk is based on your own portfolio and targets etc.

Ferrexpo, won't go to 0. Worst case, it may drop. But the operationally is making money.
