RP's stated position/view on protection is somewhat different to yours Alq although track records are a little murky on both sides.

the group has recently submitted applications to the Hong Kong Department of Health Drug Office and the Macau Government Health Bureau to acquire import licences to allow for the sale of Fortacin in Hong Kong and Macau.
The approval processes are expected to take between 18 and 24 months, for Hong Kong, and between 6 to 12 months, for Macau.

Looks like for HK some time between April 2019 and October 2019 and for Macau some time between April 2018 and October 2018. I still don't get the whole HK/Macau thing - especially Macau. More info would be nice as to commercial rationale.

The only significance I attach to CVC acquiring Recordati is that it probably confirms the press reports that two Asian Pharma's were casting an eye over Recordati last summer, although denied by Recordati at the time.
