SNige- Its not a matter of having an argument its purely a debate, an expression of differing views. Sadly if that view is negative a small number of narrow minded people resort to conspiracy theories and personal insults. Frankly I could not acre less about them so if it makes them feel better, so be it.
My point about wind turbines us that its a completely irrelevant and valueless comparison. Wind turbines generate electricity using the wind, the Mousetrap generates electricity by gasifying waste feedstocks, although these have to date been conducted on a tiny scale and limited to just pre screened tyre crumble and certain plastics which in itself is not sufficient to sustain a commercial operation.
Furthermore Phe has indicated a preference to using the Mousetrap to produce hydrogen rather than electricity to feed into the grid as the profit margin is 5x higher.
In any event it is always sensible to have a mixed energy production policy so as not to put all your eggs in one basket.
The problems connected to lithium batteries are well known, as is the fact that hydrogen is more highly flammable at a much lower concentration than many other chemicals, so that even a small amount of hydrogen may catch fire or explode. Certain countries almost have a carpet band on hydrogen.
As for the UK Government backing Phe, that is what dreams are made of. Its complete pixie dust fantasy. Phe has no protection, the technology can be easily copied and I suspect there are many other companies far more advanced in the development of gasification systems.
As you well know Piltick, Phe has not secured any government grants being previously based in Aussie and Germany with links to Bond (up on pollution charges) that is not surprising.
As a capitalist and free marketeer I find it strange that when the private sector shows no interest that everyone expects the public sector to pick up the slack.
The question you should be asking is why has Phe failed to attract a major player or indeed an outright sale of the business if the prospects were so good?
