I don’t think it’s that binary, as a shareholder you have the right to question the CEOs actions. I can praise the progress on multiple fronts, the stream of deals with numerous other companies has been absolutely fantastic, the long term future looks very rosy. However, there can be no denying that the expectations raised last year were ridiculous. Naivety, ignorance, arrogance... who knows. The market hates uncertainty, but not as much as continued incorrect guesswork. We have a CEO that has cried wolf. There’s a growing realisation that it will hopefully come good, but the muted response to our RNS is partly due to the fact we’ve heard it before - why believe that the latest collaboration to clinically validate and CE mark the test will happen when we’ve been told BBI we’re doing the same months ago.
As it happens, I personally do believe it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are a good few watching carefully and will jump in for a smaller gain rather than getting in now for another turn on the rollercoaster.
