suspect the accelerated drop is more to do with the fact a profit warning has been issued so very close to a healthy half year report. Makes you wonder what they knew? Im consdiering getting in on the drop and will then hold for a while but cant see the FY17 forecast profit forecast? Anyone know?

what is 5% below market expectations? Trawling through the various reports and Im struggling to find the FT17 forecast profit figure. Anyone know the answer?

I was on one of our development sites yesterday and saw about 100 pallets of Marshalls blocks waiting to be used. It made me smile....

It's definitely a quiet BB on here. To be honest after some of the other BB's I've seen recently turn themselves into slanging matches that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm in no rush here. I like the performance to date. I like the recent acquisition and with HS2 etc coming along I think Marshalls are well placed to benefit from the infrastructure works.

And great prospects moving forwards too.

Love it judge-mental. When I am king of England I intend to issue a breeding licence system. If you pass the tests and measures then you are allowed to breed (in a controlled and measured quantity of course). If you dont pass then you dont breed. In the meanwhile lets build loads of houses because BDEV has a cracking land bank, fix interest rates where they are for the next 10 years and extend HTB for a further 5 years. That'll do nicely for now.

There is little doubt the government will be treading carefully in how it supports housebuilders. i was at a Savills conference the other day and the statistics speak for themselves - HTB has accounted for a huge percentage of sales in the £400K to £600K (ignore London and the 900K cap for now) bracket. But hardly any (relatively speaking) below £300K. So, in most markets thats second or third time home-movers. Perhaps they have something in mind for FTB's? It's clear though the housebuilding industry still needs (wants) a product to use to shift off-plan plots so the government wont just turn the HTB tap off. It constantly talks about needing new homes and HTB is assisting in meeting that target (250,000 or 300,00 per yr I cant remember).

thats what worries me. It looks massively oversold and the recent drop harsh BUT when was the last time I bought a product off them? their high street presence allows me to go and touch, feel and play with a product and the internet allows me to get it cheaper. But, the yield looks tidy.... Agree on the Heineken comment for BDEV

I know what you mean. i wouldnt normally be this happy being this exposed to one business but I know it, I know the market it operates in and they figures speak for themselves. Like you I have a four figure divi on the way which is a nice guaranteed income. the SP will correct itself and thats all extra upside.

Gave into temptation. Another £2,500 for me on top of this mornings buy. Tomorrow will be an interesting day.

I keep thinking greedy thoughts as the SP drops....wonder if I should sell the car and cycle for a few weeks? whats the weather forecast like? I agree on the ex divi drop BTW Hugh-Jarse (love the name by the way)......but as you rightly point out other house builders just bossed straight through it so wouldn't be unreasonable to expect BDEV to do the same.
