Following a recent request for any information to the Permitting Consultations team at Newport, they have very kindly sent a response this morning:

Dear
Thanks for your enquiry regarding the Uskmouth Power Station permit substantial variation application for proposed plant conversion. Following the initial public consultation on the Duly Made application, we are still determining the application in detail. This requires extensive consideration of the technical detail of the proposals and often takes some time. We have twice formally asked the applicant for further information on specific aspects of the proposal, via Schedule 5 notices, and have asked for other clarifications via email. This is normal in a complex determination, and we are not yet in receipt of all of the information we need to make our decision.

I have arranged for minor updates to it this week, to reflect progress to date. On this page, there is a link to our public register, where you can track in detail the ongoing correspondence regarding the determination.
In due course when we have made our determination, the outcome or draft decision will be advertised on our website. If we are minded to grant the variation, there will be a period of public consultation on the decision. The website explains this more.

Fantastic posts today I must say. Video's really interesting, informative & well put together. I wrote an email to Cara on Saturday asking if she could share with me/this forum with any EP update so particularly keen to hear this. When & were will it be does anybody know?

Fellow Investors. A quick update on the SP so far today: 47 share dealings with majority of the red sells. A few large volumes as well to boot. Despite this SP down a tad but otherwise holding up quite remarkably which is a good sign.

I completely understand were your coming from Bananaman2. I'm in exactly the same position as you are. I already feel overweight in SAE but also feel compelled to increase as I have so much confidence in the company and its leadership team. I also believe from an ethical point-of-view greener renewables are the way forward for the world at large. On an unrelated point I read with interest this morning that BP have invested in a Nordic wind energy firm. Could they turn their attention to SAE at some point in the future I wonder?

I spent a few hours yesterday aft/eve going through the original planning application put together by SAE's Cardiff based consultant partners, RPS Group. It covers off extensively all matters environmental & provide a compelling case for the safe combustion of pellets that meet or exceed all emission regulations in so far as I my understanding goes. I did this because I'm looking to add my holding further in a SIPP and wanted to reassure myself before doing so. In my opinion, I would reiterate there is no justifiable reason the permit won't be issued.

Congratulations OHS. I really do believe your investment today will pay dividends. Is your holding contained in an ISA or broker? I have mine within an ISA wrapper but considering buying more for my SIPP. Also just opened a trading account with DEGIRO and considering building more shares here.

Completely agree oldtramp. Just spent a few hours today reviewing both the draft planning application and environment statement as compiled by RPS Group (Public Consultation firm) and I must say, the application on ALL FRONTS is a compelling one. It appears the LPA are pragmatic & supportive understanding of the project as it meets many of their principles as contained & issued in their 2015 report on future planning applications.

Hopefully by the end of this month. By the way, I had the same concern. A little more detail:
1. Fuel pellets are milled/manufactured to a tight & bespoke spec that give rise to emissions during the combustion process being limited.
The pellets enter the furnace were they are conbusted. They go through a Nitrous oxide control system then through a Lime spray and then an activated carbon/heavy metal and Dioxin/Duran system before entering a dust filtration unit. Onwards then to a continuous emissions monitoring unit. The cleansed flue gases whose emission concentrates that are less than NBW environmental permit limits by the way are then released into the atmosphere via the existing (120m) stack.
I believe there is no justifiable reason why the Environment permit cannot be granted based on this process but nothing can be taken for granted. The permit itself is not a new application but a variation on the existing one in so far as my understanding goes. Hope this helps provide a tad more assurance to all existing & potentially new investors. I'm in quite deep with SAE.

Terrific stuff and just enforces our faith in the SAE management team. A CEO in TC that fully appreciates the organisation's & people supporting them including their investors. A pleasure to be part of this project as a whole.

I'm sort of joking dryland. You're quite right £0.02p swing at 1st glance isn't monstrous. That said, depending on how many shares you have can make it impactful. I have quite a few. I was also referring to the share graph that tracks the ongoing SP. You will see that it resembles a heart monitor!

If you're in the game of investing then you get to know very quickly there is no such thing as a safe bet but surely this is as close as you can get to a safe bet. It is absolutely true, in order to break through & sustain a £0.30p+ SP we must 1st attain the Environmental permit & this is not guaranteed. However, we must remember the site already has one based on fossil fuel consumption and as we all know, the fuel pellets are much more efficient than coal. I see no viable reason why we wouldn't sail our way pass this next milestone unless I'm missing something. As the SAS say, "who dares wins ".

Just following the SP movement so far today... It's like taking a white knuckle ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. I keep screaming when it goes down!
