Hi Alas, I'm currently 8% up with MTU. I only wish the same could be said for my SIPP investments! To be fair, I'm still up but my BG American & Global Discovery funds are sliding into negative territory as is my JPM Japanese trust. I've also recently invested in VMID & that's 6% up so the UK based funds are doing ok. I agree with you the stronger companies will get stronger at the expense of weaker ones. My gut feel is that the markets (mostly!) are trading far to high considering the climate almost euphoric in fact & my concern is the bubble will burst. Hope not but it's a real possibility. I'm thinking about retirement in this next year or two so could do with some growth coming through on my portfolio! Anyhow, I think MTU will continue to go from strength to strength & now considering this for my SIPP as I've been encouraged by its performance so far.

Hi Alas, just bought into MTU myself this past week on the same basis as you. Only 700 shares for my ISA but considering also for my SIPP. This trust appears to be just as opportunistic as any other. I'm slightly up as I write although the SP is a tad lower so far today.

What on earth is going on with this SP? Down yet again!

EU taking legal action against AZN for failing to supply the vaccine in the volumes they say they agreed. Wish we could get to the bottom of whose right & wrong here. Anyway, likely the SP will drop on the news. In respect of the EU, one minute, they want the vaccine then they don't then they do! One thing's for sure, they sure don't like AZN!

Currently got a dinghy full of L&G shares in my ISA. If the SP falls to £2.60 I'll be ordering a cargo full of em for my SIPP!

Unfortunately yes, that's what happened. Finishing up less than £2.76 at close which is a tad lower than I expected if truth be told. We might see some further volatility in the short term which would present an opportunity to average down funds permitting. When all said & done though and just like many recent postees have mentioned, this is not a speculative (AIM type) share but one that should be held onto in order to maximise the required profit opportunity. Having said that lets hope the SP recovers well over the coming weeks. GLA.

At an SP of £10.80 versus A NAV of £11.57 does SMT not now qualify for bargain basement stock? I can see the boys buying more of their own shares at this level... and why not!

Another 2% down today which is, in itself, bad news. The good news is more buy backs showing the world at large their confidence in the business. Those guys at SMT certainly know a bargain when they see one!

The more PI' s & institutional investors sell the more floating shares there are in the market thus suppressing the SP from rising. The only positive I can draw is that the SP is now a buyers market due to it's attractive buying in price. Buffet once said be brave when others panic. The fundamentals of the trust are still the same so it's just a matter of time before we see uplift.

The more that renewable tidal resources are talked about the better. It's taking time of course but I feel it'll get there!

As we all know the SP has taken a beating of late due, in no small part, to a run of bad luck including delays with SUP permits & collapse of GFG's finance relationship with Greensill. As a result, some of us unfortunately are still sitting on heavy paper losses. SAE still positive about the outcome of SUP which is encouraging & for that matter, so am I. Keeping the faith.

Yet another helter skelter ride today in so far as the SP goes. We are in a real somewhat prolonged period of uncertainty hence the scale of volatility. Could do with some better news on JCGI!

Hi Strangy83, it's currently sitting with the Senior Officer at the WM. Goodness knows how long that will take but I would assume not too much longer now. Only hope the SP rockets on any positive update as I think many investors are sitting on a paper loss right now. The guys from across the pond are due to make their 2nd payment soon. If they do this could help nudge the SP up.

I can see from the significant volume of transactions today, most are sells. I hope they do not represent panic sells with investors losing money. In my view, the current SP represents extremely good value and therefore a very good entrance price. GLA

Hi Etotheipi, like you, I expected a positive correction this morning but were already down by almost a further 4% as I write. I'm led to believe the relationship building process between the USA & China might take more time than expected hence the drop yesterday and what appears to be a crossover or hangover period taking us into today. Not great I know. It feels like we're in the midst of a perfect storm in so far as equities are concerned so we may well be in for a period of high volatility. Fingers crossed I'm wrong & matters settle down fast.
