Painful I know but if you can hang on until 2024 wide body aircraft and hence long haul flights should have significantly improved. This is where the bulk of revenue & profit comes from and thus it is at this point where I see the turnaround happening in earnest. Until then it's likely to be a topsy-turvy ride I'm afraid. To answer a number of previous posts in terms of the good news having a detrimental affect on SP... no amount of good news will increase the SP per se unless it is formally RNS'd. We haven't seen any positive RNS's from RR for a while which is why positive news doesn't always filter into the SP. The ITP sale will be RNS'd but as I and others have previously posted, this sale, complex as it maybe is certainly dragging it's feet. Lot's to look forward to with RR methinks but a good dollop of patience is needed for most, I suspect, to turn a profit.

There are plenty investors out there who try time the market. Few actually do so successfully including I hasten to add, myself! Many pundits do however forecast a recession and if one materialises then the SP will drop. But that's a waiting game and it may or may not happen. Patience as they say is a virtue and it may pay dividends. I prefer time in the markets these days and that's why, like robleo, I am in profit when it comes to LGEN and while others sit it out I and other current LGEN holders collect the handsome real dividends. In the end though each to their own.

Ok, so not at it's all time high yet but what stock is right now? This stock never fails to bounce back. Never.

I've never not known LGEN to recover from any share price drop.

FastFitz, that's how I read it but I'm sure Red_inky will confirm for you probably thinking there are several headwinds to face including:
Conflict
Recession
Job sacrifices leading to reduced air travel
Sentiment
Continued bear market
Increasig inflation
Higher interest payments
Global supply issues
High cost of raw materials
High cost of labour
and most importantly...
£9 a pint in London. Glad I don't live in the metropolis!

Bearing all this in mind, small wonder many people think we are facing a financial apocalyptic event and share prices are bound to collapse before making their usual recovery etc.

But I must reiterate this:

Nobody knows for absolute certainty what will happen to any given stock/share price let alone RR.

I'm simply reinvesting the divi into more shares. This is more a compounding or pound cost averaging strategy but doesn't always work particularly short term when the SP drops by the same amount as the divi itself. At the time of writing the drop is more than 6p so those that sold their LGEN shares before today are winning. As a long term investor and by that I mean at least 3yrs+ I'm happy to continue with the strategy then use the drop to buy more shares subject to funds as I just know the SP will bounce back at some point. History has proven this time & time again but each to their own.

If Cine decide to dilute at 8p where on earth would this leave the SP?

Whether one buys just before ex divi to reap the divi or sells in the hope the SP drops by more than the divi to then buy back in is anyone's guess. Gamble either way unless your strategy is more medium to king term. LGEN is now a major part of my "core' portfolio and I'm continuing my strategy of re-investing the dividends. Each to their own though.

Grant: in my view that's a fair amount of money so guessing you have done your due diligence and found RR to be a worthwhile investment. What's your strategy in terms of time horizon? Mine's 3-5 years+.

SD: Sounds like you have a clear strategy here. :) The good news is the divi looks like it's well covered for some time to come. That's good news for us all as we go forwards. I'm continuing to re-invest the divis and buy on the dips. Difficult to know for absolute surety if were heading for a full bloodied recession or stagnation and even if we do what impact that would have on SP hence no one strategy can be foolproof.

freeposter: I think that's the gamble one takes. If the SP always drops like a stone on ex-dividend day everyone would sell up a day before and then re-buy. Some people are very lucky with this strategy but knowing my luck if I did the same the SP would increase 20% just to pea me off!

SD: Interesting strategy and one that works for you and I hasten to add a lit of others whom have previously posted on this board. I'm still building my holding in LGEN and will likely opt to have my dividends paid in additional shares as per previous divi payments. Interesting to hear other board members strategy/thoughts on what is a fairly quiet board for the size of company.

cherryburn: agreed. Wished I'd put my life savings into this. Great, solid business and for a change to most companies I'minvested in, very well run from the top.

Despite the share price currently being in the doldrums there is a tremendous amount of activity going on with what seems an ever bulging pipeline. As investors we can only wait for everything to come together as it surely must.

Hi Edward75. Only the treasury is holding this back but they may well be forced to part company with their cash sooner rather than later. It will be interesting to follow the hearing on the 7th. I'm hopeful this could prove the catalyst to getting things moving. 7th September is therefore a date for all us investors.

For thos3 that may not have seen this a date has been set in parliament to discuss RR's Small Nuclear Reactors. Could we be finally make headway. Time will tell...
